EPCOT has character meet and greets throughout World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase. Current characters include Mickey Mouse and friends, Anna and Elsa, Figment, Donald Duck, Pluto, Asha, Star-Lord and several Disney Princesses.
The lineup is much different from older EPCOT guides that still mention Character Spot, Innoventions or Genie+. Character schedules also change throughout the day, so use the My Disney Experience app for exact appearance times during your visit.

Character availability is always subject to change. Before walking across EPCOT for one specific character, check that day’s schedule in My Disney Experience or Disney’s official EPCOT entertainment listings.
Mickey, Minnie and Goofy at CommuniCore Hall
The main place to meet classic Disney characters at EPCOT is Mickey & Friends inside CommuniCore Hall in World Celebration.
Disney currently shows Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy at this indoor location. It is one of the easiest character stops to build into an EPCOT day because it sits near the center of the park rather than deep inside World Showcase.
This is also a better answer to the old “EPCOT Character Spot” question. Character Spot is no longer the current Mickey meet-and-greet location.
Is EPCOT Character Spot still open?
No. EPCOT Character Spot is no longer the current character greeting location.
If you find an older guide telling you to go to Character Spot in Future World or Innoventions West, that information is outdated.
Today, EPCOT uses the World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase neighborhoods. Mickey & Friends now meet inside CommuniCore Hall in World Celebration.

Meet Anna and Elsa in Norway
Anna and Elsa have one of EPCOT’s most established character locations at Royal Sommerhus in the Norway Pavilion.
You meet both Frozen sisters inside the same dedicated character experience, making this one of the most efficient stops if Frozen is important to your family.
Frozen Ever After is also in Norway, so it makes sense to combine the attraction and character greeting rather than crossing World Showcase twice.

Disney Princesses around World Showcase
EPCOT is particularly useful if meeting princesses is a priority because several characters appear in the World Showcase pavilion associated with their stories.

These outdoor princess meets generally operate in scheduled sets instead of continuously all day. Check the app before starting around World Showcase so you can line up your route with the appearance times.

Meet Donald Duck in Mexico
Donald Duck currently meets guests outside the Mexico Pavilion dressed as one of The Three Caballeros.
This is another easy stop to combine with nearby attractions because Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is inside the Mexico Pavilion.

Meet Alice and Winnie the Pooh in the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom Pavilion currently has two separate character experiences.
Alice meets in the pavilion’s garden area, while Winnie the Pooh meets inside Christopher Robin’s room.
Their schedules are separate, so seeing one does not necessarily mean the other will be appearing at the same time.
Meet Figment at ImageWorks
Figment has his own character greeting inside ImageWorks, near Journey Into Imagination With Figment.

Meet Pluto near the EPCOT entrance
Pluto currently has scheduled greetings near EPCOT’s main entrance.
This makes him particularly easy to catch near the beginning or end of the day without changing your route through the park.

Asha meets near World Showcase Plaza
Asha from Wish currently has scheduled meet-and-greet appearances near World Showcase Plaza.
Because she appears in sets rather than continuously, this is another character worth checking in the app before walking over specifically to meet her.
Star-Lord meets near Guardians of the Galaxy
Star-Lord currently appears near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in World Discovery.
This is a newer addition compared with many older EPCOT character guides, so it is easy to miss if you are planning from an outdated list.
Can you meet Moana at EPCOT?
Moana may appear near the entrance to Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana in World Nature.
Disney describes this as an appearance that can happen from time to time, so I would not build the entire day’s schedule around meeting her without checking My Disney Experience first.
Even if Moana is not appearing during your visit, the nearby Journey of Water attraction is worth considering with kids, especially when you want a break from ride queues.
What time are the EPCOT character meet and greets?
There is no single EPCOT character schedule.
Some indoor locations operate for long blocks of the day, while many characters around World Showcase appear during several shorter sets.
The most reliable way to find the schedule for your actual visit is:
- Open the My Disney Experience app.
- Open the park map.
- Switch the map category to Characters.
- Select EPCOT.
- Tap the character you want to meet to see the location and scheduled appearances.
Do this again during the day. Outdoor appearances can change because of weather, operational issues or other park conditions.

Can you use Lightning Lane for EPCOT character meet and greets?
EPCOT’s current Lightning Lane Multi Pass lineup does not include the regular character meet-and-greet locations.
That means you should plan on using the regular character queues rather than buying Lightning Lane Multi Pass specifically to meet Mickey, Anna and Elsa, Figment or the World Showcase princesses.
This is another area where old Disney World guides can be misleading because Genie+ was replaced by Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass in 2024, and the participating experiences have changed.

Do you need reservations for EPCOT character meets?
You do not normally need a separate reservation for the standard character meet-and-greet locations around EPCOT.
You join the character queue during an operating period.
Character dining is different. Garden Grill and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall are table-service restaurants, and Disney strongly recommends advance dining reservations.

If you want to meet characters without spending part of the day moving between separate greeting locations, EPCOT has two major character meals.
Garden Grill Restaurant
Garden Grill in World Nature currently features Chip, Dale, Mickey Mouse and other Disney friends during its character meals.
The restaurant slowly rotates above scenes from Living with the Land, and the characters come to the tables instead of requiring you to wait in separate standby lines.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Akershus in the Norway Pavilion offers Princess Storybook Dining with a rotating group of Disney Princesses.
This can be particularly useful if your family wants several princess interactions but you do not want to plan the entire World Showcase route around individual meet times.

Can EPCOT characters sign autographs and give hugs?
Many traditional character greetings allow photos, hugs and autographs, although the exact interaction can vary by character and location.
Mickey & Friends at CommuniCore Hall, for example, is specifically promoted by Disney as a place where guests can get a photo, a hug and potentially an autograph.
If collecting signatures is part of the trip, bring an autograph book and a pen that is easy for costumed characters to handle. Do not assume every character or special appearance signs.

Best way to plan an EPCOT character day
EPCOT is large enough that repeatedly crossing the park for character times wastes more time than most families expect.
A better strategy is to check the full character schedule in the morning and group the meets by area.
- Main entrance and World Celebration: Pluto, Mickey & Friends and nearby Asha.
- World Discovery and World Nature: Star-Lord, Figment and potentially Moana depending on the day’s schedule.
- World Showcase: Donald, Anna, Elsa, Mulan, Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Aurora, Alice and Winnie the Pooh.
Once you enter World Showcase, try to continue around the lagoon instead of bouncing between countries. The published appearance times will tell you whether clockwise or counterclockwise makes more sense that day.

Are there seasonal or surprise characters at EPCOT?
Special events, festivals and limited-time entertainment can occasionally add character appearances that are not part of the normal daily lineup.
I would not plan a trip around an unannounced festival character or assume that costumes and appearances from previous years will return. Those offerings change too often.
Check the EPCOT festival calendar and Disney’s official entertainment schedule shortly before your visit if you are hoping for limited-time characters.
Which EPCOT characters should you prioritize?
If you only have time for a few character stops, prioritize the characters your family specifically cares about rather than trying to complete the entire list.
Mickey & Friends is efficient if you want classic Disney characters. Royal Sommerhus gives Frozen fans Anna and Elsa in one stop. Figment is particularly tied to EPCOT itself, while World Showcase is the strongest part of the park for meeting several princesses in a relatively compact route.
Most importantly, check the app on the day you visit. EPCOT has far more current character opportunities than older guides referencing Character Spot suggest, but exact times and appearances remain subject to change.
