If you're planning a trip to EPCOT and wondering which rides offer Lightning Lane access, you're in the right place. I've been to EPCOT more times than I can count, and understanding which attractions are part of the Lightning Lane system can save you a ton of time in the parks.
This list of EPCOT Lightning Lane rides is meant to give you a clear breakdown of what to expect, especially if you're considering Genie+ or just want to know which rides you can skip the standby line for.
Before we dive in, here’s a reminder that this article focuses on the rides that have Lightning Lane access—not how to use them strategically. If you're looking for tips on that, check out this EPCOT Lightning Lane strategy guide.
EPCOT Lightning Lane Rides
When I use Genie+ at EPCOT, I plan my day around the attractions included in Lightning Lane. Some are major headliners, and some are great for families with kids.
Here's a rundown of what’s available through Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane.
1. Frozen Ever After
With standby times often reaching 70–90 minutes, using Lightning Lane can cut your wait down to about 10–20 minutes.
This family favorite is tucked into the Norway Pavilion in World Showcase. The ride takes you on a slow boat journey through scenes from Frozen—yes, you’ll hear “Let It Go,” and yes, it will be stuck in your head. It's one of the most popular rides at EPCOT for families and usually has long waits.
2. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Standby waits can hit 90+ minutes during peak times, but with Lightning Lane, you can often board within 15–25 minutes.
Located in the France Pavilion, this ride is an adorable 4D experience where you're shrunk down to the size of a rat and scurry through Gusteau’s kitchen. It’s trackless, immersive, and a total crowd-pleaser.
3. Soarin’ Around the World
Standby lines hover around 45–70 minutes mid-day, but Lightning Lane often gets you in within 10–15 minutes.
This one’s a classic. You’re lifted into the air and glide over famous landmarks from all over the world. The sights, smells, and gentle motion make this a hit with both adults and kids.
4. Test Track
Wait times can be 60–90 minutes or longer, but Lightning Lane usually gets you through in 15–20 minutes.
If you like a little adrenaline, this is one of EPCOT’s best thrill rides. You design your own virtual car and then test it out on a high-speed track. The outdoor portion is fast and fun, and it’s one of the most thrilling rides in the park.
5. Mission: SPACE
Lightning Lane access can save you 30–40 minutes compared to standby in the afternoon.
This one comes with two versions: Orange (intense) and Green (milder). You’re placed in a spaceship simulator and “launched” to Mars. The Orange version is intense enough to make some people nauseous, so I always go with Green.
6. Spaceship Earth
Great for a midday break and rarely has long waits, but if it spikes above 30 minutes during peak hours, Lightning Lane can cut that wait in half or more.
That big silver ball at the entrance of EPCOT? Yep, that’s a ride! It’s a slow-moving journey through the history of communication—from cave paintings to the dawn of the internet.
7. The Seas with Nemo & Friends
The line is usually manageable (15–30 minutes), but Lightning Lane gets you on in under 10 minutes.
A gentle ride through an animated ocean world featuring Nemo and friends. It’s right next to the aquarium, making it a good double-feature if you're traveling with little ones.
8. Turtle Talk with Crush
Waits are typically short, but during busy times when it fills up, Lightning Lane can ensure you get a spot with minimal waiting.
This is an interactive digital show where Crush (from Finding Nemo) chats live with the audience. It’s a surprisingly fun experience, especially for kids.
9. Journey Into Imagination with Figment
Standby rarely exceeds 25 minutes, so Lightning Lane doesn’t save a ton of time—but it can still cut your wait by half if it gets backed up.
This quirky dark ride stars Figment, a mischievous purple dragon who guides you through a sensory exploration of imagination.
10. Living with the Land
Lines are usually short, but if it’s a busy day, Lightning Lane saves about 15–20 minutes compared to standby.
If you’re into slow rides and behind-the-scenes experiences, this one’s a gem. It’s a boat ride through greenhouses and labs showcasing Disney’s sustainable agriculture projects.
11. Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival
You’re unlikely to wait more than one show cycle (about 15 minutes), but Lightning Lane can help you skip the standby if you arrive right before the show starts.
This is a theater experience showing a rotation of 3D Pixar shorts. It’s a nice way to get off your feet for a bit.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
This is the big one—and it’s not included with Genie+. Instead, you’ll need to buy an Individual Lightning Lane or try your luck with the Virtual Queue. It’s a smooth, spinning indoor coaster with music, story, and jaw-dropping visuals.
Wait times vary depending on the Virtual Queue drops, but using Individual Lightning Lane guarantees access and saves potentially hours of uncertainty.
If you want to know how this fits into a bigger plan, check out the EPCOT itinerary with Genie+ or this half-day EPCOT itinerary.
Bonus Tips
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is not included in Genie+—it requires an Individual Lightning Lane or Virtual Queue.
- Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure have some of the longest lines—use Lightning Lane here if possible.
- Not every Lightning Lane ride is worth using your picks on—some rides rarely have long waits, like Living with the Land or Figment.
