The best rides at EPCOT are Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Soarin’, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Mission: SPACE, Gran Fiesta Tour, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Journey Into Imagination With Figment. If I were planning one EPCOT day, I would ride Guardians or Test Track first, then prioritize Remy and Frozen before saving the slower classics for the hotter, busier part of the day.
EPCOT is not just a ride park, but the rides still matter a lot when you are trying to plan your day well. The trick is knowing which rides deserve early priority and which ones are better as easy indoor breaks between food, festivals, and walking around World Showcase.
For a broader park overview, start with my main EPCOT guide. This guide is focused only on the best rides, how I rank them, and what I would ride first.
Best Rides at EPCOT Ranked
The best rides at EPCOT are not all equal when it comes to wait times, location, and how much they affect your day. I rank Guardians, Test Track, Remy, and Frozen as the biggest planning priorities because those are the rides most likely to create long waits or force you to think strategically.
Here is how I would rank all 11 EPCOT rides for a real park day.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is the best ride at EPCOT and the one I would build my day around first. It is smooth, fast, funny, and more exciting than anything else in the park. The rotating coaster vehicles make it feel different from a standard roller coaster, and the music gives the ride a huge amount of personality.
I still consider it a true thrill ride, though. If you are sensitive to motion, spinning, or screens, it may be more intense than you expect.
Ride first? Yes. If you want the biggest EPCOT headliner, prioritize this first. For more detail, see my guide to Guardians of the Galaxy at EPCOT.
2. Test Track

Test Track is one of EPCOT’s most important rides because it gives the park a fast, energetic attraction that feels completely different from the slower dark rides and boat rides. The outdoor speed section is still the main payoff, and it is one of the few rides at EPCOT that feels genuinely thrilling.
I would not casually leave Test Track for the end of the day if it matters to you. It can pull long waits, and because it is near the front of the park, it makes sense as an early target if you enter through the main entrance.
Ride first? Yes, especially if you enter from the front of EPCOT. My EPCOT Test Track guide goes deeper on the ride.
3. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is one of the best family-friendly rides at EPCOT. It is cute, colorful, and easy for most groups to enjoy together. The trackless ride system makes it feel more active than a traditional dark ride, and the France pavilion setting gives it a fun sense of place.
The main reason to prioritize Remy is demand. It often gets a long wait because kids, adults, and first-time visitors all want to ride it. If you enter through International Gateway, this is usually one of the smartest first rides.
Ride first? Yes, if you enter near World Showcase. See my guide on how to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure for more strategy.
4. Frozen Ever After
Frozen Ever After is one of EPCOT’s most popular rides because it works for such a wide audience. It is a boat ride, but it has enough music, characters, and movement to feel more exciting than a basic slow ride.
I do think the wait can feel long for the actual ride length, so I would not let it control your whole day unless you have Frozen fans in your group. But for families, it is absolutely one of the top EPCOT rides to plan around.
Ride first? Maybe. Ride it early if you have kids, Frozen fans, or you are starting near Norway.
5. Soarin’

Soarin’ is still one of the most enjoyable rides at EPCOT because it feels big, calm, and classic. It is not as hard to access as Guardians, Test Track, Remy, or Frozen, but I still think it belongs in the top five because almost everyone can enjoy it.
This is a great late-morning or afternoon ride because it is indoors, relaxing, and located near Living with the Land. I usually do not rope drop it unless the wait is unusually low.
Ride first? Not usually. Save it for after the biggest headliners. You can also read more about Soarin’ Around the World at EPCOT.
6. Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is not the most exciting ride at EPCOT, but it is the most iconic. Riding inside the EPCOT ball still feels like something you should do, especially on a first visit.
The biggest strategy tip is simple: do not automatically ride it first just because it is at the entrance. Many guests stop there right away, so I usually walk past it in the morning and return later when the line is easier.
Ride first? No. Ride it later in the day. For more context, see my guide to inside the EPCOT ball.
7. Living with the Land

Living with the Land is one of the most underrated EPCOT rides. It is calm, air-conditioned, and very specific to EPCOT. The greenhouse section is the reason I keep riding it because it feels different from almost anything else at Disney World.
This is not a rope drop ride, but it is a great mid-day reset. I like pairing it with Soarin’ because both are in The Land pavilion.
Ride first? No. Ride it when you are in The Land pavilion or need a break. My full guide to Living with the Land at EPCOT has more details.
8. Mission: SPACE

Mission: SPACE is unique, but it is also the EPCOT ride I am most cautious about recommending. The Orange Mission can feel intense, enclosed, and uncomfortable if you are sensitive to motion. The Green Mission is milder, but it still is not for everyone.
If you like simulators and want something more intense, it may be worth riding. If you are unsure, I would not force it just to complete every EPCOT ride.
Ride first? No. Ride it only if your group actually wants that kind of experience. See my EPCOT Mission: SPACE guide for more.
9. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

Gran Fiesta Tour is not a headliner, but it is one of my favorite low-stress EPCOT rides. It is tucked inside the Mexico pavilion, and the setting does a lot of the work. Walking into the pyramid, seeing the nighttime marketplace, and then hopping on a gentle boat ride is always a nice break.
I would not cross the park just to ride it, but if I am already in Mexico and the wait is short, I almost always get on.
Ride first? No. Ride it naturally while exploring World Showcase.
10. The Seas with Nemo & Friends

The Seas with Nemo & Friends is a simple family dark ride that works best if you are visiting with younger kids or want an easy indoor break. The ride itself is not a major priority, but the aquarium area afterward gives the pavilion extra value.
For adults without kids, this is more optional. For families, it can be a useful low-pressure attraction near the front half of EPCOT.
Ride first? No. Save it for a slower part of the day.
11. Journey Into Imagination With Figment
Journey Into Imagination With Figment is colorful, odd, and very EPCOT, but I would not put it high on a ride priority list. Figment fans may love it for the nostalgia, but most first-time visitors can treat it as a bonus ride.
The good news is that it is usually easy to fit in when the wait is short. I would ride it if you have time, but I would not sacrifice a major headliner for it.
Ride first? No. Treat it as a bonus. For more, see my guide to Journey Into Imagination at EPCOT.
What to Ride First at EPCOT
If you are entering through the main entrance, I would usually ride Test Track first unless Guardians is your main priority and you have a specific plan for it. After that, I would work toward Soarin’ and Living with the Land, then save Spaceship Earth for later.
If you enter through International Gateway, I would usually ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure first, then consider Frozen Ever After before moving toward the front of the park.
A simple first-ride strategy looks like this:
- Main entrance: Test Track first, then Guardians, Soarin’, and Living with the Land.
- International Gateway: Remy first, then Frozen, then move toward Guardians or Test Track.
- Families with small kids: Remy and Frozen should be top priorities.
- Thrill seekers: Guardians, Test Track, and Mission: SPACE are the key rides.
- Relaxed EPCOT day: Soarin’, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and Gran Fiesta Tour are the best fits.
If you are using Lightning Lane, focus your planning around the rides that create the most pressure: Guardians, Test Track, Remy, and Frozen. My EPCOT Lightning Lane strategy can help you decide what is worth booking.
Are All 11 EPCOT Rides Worth Doing?
If you have a full day, yes, I think all 11 EPCOT rides are worth doing at least once. But they are not all equally important.
For most first-time visitors, I would focus on these seven first:
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Test Track
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- Frozen Ever After
- Soarin’
- Spaceship Earth
- Living with the Land
Those give you the strongest mix of thrill rides, family rides, classic EPCOT, and relaxing indoor attractions. Mission: SPACE, Gran Fiesta Tour, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Journey Into Imagination are more optional depending on your group and wait times.
Before your trip, I would also check current ride availability on Disney’s official EPCOT park page, especially if your plan depends on one specific headliner. My EPCOT ride closures guide is also helpful when building a ride-first plan.
My EPCOT Ride Priority List
If I wanted the simplest possible EPCOT ride plan, I would use this priority order:
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Test Track
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- Frozen Ever After
- Soarin’
- Spaceship Earth
- Living with the Land
- Mission: SPACE
- Gran Fiesta Tour
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends
- Journey Into Imagination With Figment
If time is limited, focus on the top five. If you have a full day, add Spaceship Earth and Living with the Land because they make EPCOT feel more complete. Everything after that is worth doing when the wait is short, your group is interested, or you need a slower break between the bigger rides.
