The EPCOT festival calendar is built around four main seasonal events: Festival of the Arts in winter, Flower & Garden in spring, Food & Wine in late summer and fall, and Festival of the Holidays in late November and December. If I were planning a trip, I would use the festival dates first, then decide whether I want art, flowers, food booths, concerts, or holiday entertainment to shape my EPCOT day.
EPCOT feels very different depending on which festival is happening. Some visits feel colorful and relaxed, while others feel more like a food crawl around World Showcase. That is why I always check the festival calendar before choosing my park day.
If you are still planning the basics of the park itself, start with my broader EPCOT guide first, then use this guide to decide which festival season fits your trip best.
EPCOT Festival Calendar: Dates, Seasons, and What to Expect
The EPCOT festival calendar changes slightly each year, but the pattern is usually consistent. EPCOT typically has a winter art festival, a spring garden festival, a late summer and fall food festival, and a holiday festival near the end of the year.
Here is the quick version I would use when planning a trip.
| EPCOT Festival | Typical Time of Year | 2026 Date Status | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| EPCOT International Festival of the Arts | January to February | 2026 event has concluded | Art booths, creative food, live artists, Disney on Broadway-style entertainment |
| EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival | March to early June | March 4 to June 1, 2026 | Topiaries, gardens, outdoor kitchens, spring atmosphere |
| EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival | Late August to November | August 27 to November 21, 2026 | Food booths, drinks, concerts, adult trips |
| EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays | Late November to December | 2026 dates not yet confirmed | Holiday kitchens, storytellers, Candlelight Processional |
The biggest thing to know is that these festivals are included with EPCOT admission, but the food, drinks, merchandise, and special dining packages cost extra. So the festival itself may not require a separate ticket, but the day can still get expensive quickly.
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Festival of the Arts is usually the first EPCOT festival of the year. It is the most creative festival, with art booths, chalk artists, interactive photo spots, live performances, and food that is often designed to look as interesting as it tastes.
I like this festival because it gives EPCOT a more relaxed, gallery-like feeling. It is not as food-heavy as Food & Wine, so it works well if you want a festival atmosphere without making the whole day about eating.
Best For
Festival of the Arts is best for visitors who like Disney art, creative snacks, live entertainment, and a slightly calmer festival vibe. It is also a good choice if you want comfortable winter weather and lower intensity than the bigger fall festival season.
My Tip
Do not over-plan this one. Pick a few food studios or performances you care about, then leave time to wander. If rides are also important, look at the best rides at EPCOT before you go so the festival does not accidentally take over your whole day.
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

Flower & Garden is one of the easiest EPCOT festivals to recommend. The park looks better during this festival, especially around the entrance, World Celebration, and World Showcase. The topiaries, gardens, and outdoor kitchens make the whole park feel brighter and more enjoyable.
For 2026, EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival runs from March 4 through June 1. I would personally aim for March or April if possible, because the weather is usually more comfortable than late May or early June.
Best For
Flower & Garden is best for first-time festival visitors, families, couples, and anyone who wants EPCOT to feel pretty and seasonal without being too intense. It is also a good fit if you want food booths, but do not want the heavier crowds and drinking energy that can come with Food & Wine weekends.
My Tip
Tour rides in the morning, then enjoy the gardens and outdoor kitchens later in the day. This is also a great festival for slowing down around the EPCOT countries because the displays and food booths fit naturally into World Showcase.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

Food & Wine is the biggest and most famous EPCOT festival for many visitors. It usually has the most food booths, the strongest adult-trip energy, and the clearest reason to spend a long afternoon and evening eating around World Showcase.
For 2026, EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 27 through November 21. The early part of the festival can be very hot, so I prefer the later dates if I have a choice.
Best For
Food & Wine is best for adults, couples, friend trips, and anyone who wants EPCOT to feel like a food-focused park day. It can still work for families, but I would be more strategic with timing, especially on weekends.
My Tip
Avoid Saturday afternoon and evening if you want a calmer experience. Weekdays are usually better. I also recommend choosing a short list of must-try booths instead of trying to eat everything.
If food is the main reason for your trip, compare festival booths with the best restaurants at EPCOT and the best quick service restaurants in EPCOT. Festival food is fun, but sometimes a real meal is the better move on a hot or crowded day.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays

Festival of the Holidays is the shortest major EPCOT festival, but it has one of the most distinct moods. It focuses on holiday kitchens, seasonal entertainment, storytellers around World Showcase, and the Candlelight Processional.
Disney has not officially confirmed the 2026 Festival of the Holidays dates yet. Based on the usual pattern, I would expect it to begin around late November and run through December, but I would check the official calendar before booking around it.
Best For
Festival of the Holidays is best for visitors who want Christmas atmosphere, seasonal food, music, and a more emotional holiday feel. It is especially nice if you enjoy World Showcase because the storytellers give each pavilion more seasonal personality.
My Tip
Go earlier in the festival season if possible. Late November and early December can still be busy, but the final Christmas stretch is usually much more crowded. If Candlelight Processional matters to you, plan that first and build the rest of your EPCOT day around it.
For more detail, see my guide to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
Which EPCOT Festival Is Best?
The best EPCOT festival depends on what kind of trip you want. I do not think there is one perfect answer for everyone, because each festival changes the park in a different way.
If I had to simplify it, this is how I would choose.
| Trip Style | Best EPCOT Festival |
| First-time festival visit | Flower & Garden |
| Adults or couples trip | Food & Wine |
| Creative or artsy trip | Festival of the Arts |
| Christmas trip | Festival of the Holidays |
| Best overall atmosphere | Flower & Garden |
| Best food-focused trip | Food & Wine |
| Best lower-key festival feel | Festival of the Arts |
For my own trip, I would choose Flower & Garden for the easiest overall EPCOT day. The park looks great, the food booths are fun, and the festival adds to the park without overwhelming it.
For an adults-only trip, I would choose Food & Wine on a weekday in October or early November. That gives you the food booth experience with better weather than late August or September.
Are EPCOT Festivals Crowded?
Yes, EPCOT festivals can make the park feel more crowded, especially around World Showcase. The crowds are not always about ride wait times. Sometimes the bigger issue is booth lines, narrow walkways, and how slowly people move when everyone is eating, drinking, and stopping for photos.
Food & Wine usually feels the busiest to me, especially on weekends. Festival of the Holidays can also feel packed because it overlaps with the broader Christmas season at Disney World.
Best Days to Visit
If you have flexibility, choose a weekday. Monday through Thursday is usually better than Friday night or Saturday, especially during Food & Wine.
I would also arrive early enough to do the rides you care about before the festival crowd builds. Then you can shift into food booths and World Showcase later in the day. For more help choosing a date, see my guide to the best day to visit EPCOT.
Simple EPCOT Festival Planning Tips
A good EPCOT festival day is not about doing everything. It is about picking the right festival for your trip, choosing a manageable number of booths or shows, and leaving enough time to enjoy the park without rushing.
These are the tips I would actually use.
Check the Hours Before You Go
Festival days work better when you know the park schedule in advance. Check what time EPCOT opens and the current EPCOT hours before building your plan.
Do Rides Before the Festival Pace Takes Over
I like doing priority rides earlier, then letting the festival shape the afternoon and evening. This keeps the day balanced.
If rides are a major part of your visit, use the list of all the rides at EPCOT so you know what to prioritize before you start spending time at booths.
Set a Food Budget
Festival booth items add up fast. A few snacks and drinks can easily cost as much as a full meal. I like setting a rough budget before I start ordering, especially during Food & Wine.
If you want a real meal instead of grazing all day, check the list of all the restaurants at EPCOT before your trip.
Wear Comfortable Shoes
EPCOT is a walking-heavy park, and festivals make that even more obvious. You may circle World Showcase, backtrack for a booth, cross the park for a ride, then walk back again for entertainment.
If you want a better sense of the scale, my guide to how many miles EPCOT is explains why comfortable shoes matter here.
Check Official Festival Details Near Your Trip
Festival menus, concerts, entertainment, and dates can change. I like using planning guides for strategy, but I always check Disney’s official EPCOT page close to my trip so I know what is current: EPCOT at Walt Disney World.
My Quick Recommendation
If you want the safest all-around pick, choose Flower & Garden. It is pretty, approachable, and easy to enjoy even if you are not building the whole day around food booths.
If you want the biggest food event, choose Food & Wine, but try for a weekday. If you want the most creative atmosphere, choose Festival of the Arts. If you want Christmas music, storytellers, and holiday food, choose Festival of the Holidays.
