If you’re looking for a Mexican restaurant at EPCOT, you actually have several very different choices around the Mexico Pavilion. San Angel Inn Restaurante and La Hacienda de San Angel are the two full table-service restaurants, La Cantina de San Angel is the quick-service option, and La Cava del Tequila and Choza de Margarita are better for drinks and smaller bites.
I’ve eaten at San Angel Inn more than once, and it’s still the place I’d choose when atmosphere matters most. But I wouldn’t automatically send everyone there. If you want a fast plate of tacos, a waterfront dinner or simply a margarita, another Mexico Pavilion spot may make more sense.

San Angel Inn Is the Mexican Restaurant Inside the EPCOT Pyramid
If you’re searching for the Mexican restaurant inside the EPCOT pyramid, this is the one you’re thinking of.
San Angel Inn Restaurante sits inside the Mexico Pavilion beside the Gran Fiesta Tour. The dining room is designed to feel like an outdoor Mexican hacienda at night, even though you’re completely indoors. There are dim lanterns, a Mayan pyramid in the distance and boats from the attraction floating past the edge of the restaurant.
That setting is the biggest reason I return.
The first time I walked into the pavilion and saw the restaurant below, it didn’t feel much like a theme park restaurant. After being outside in the Florida sun, sitting in the cool, dark dining room is a surprisingly good break from EPCOT.
If you can get a table closer to the water, I’d ask for it. There’s no guarantee that request will be available, but watching the Gran Fiesta Tour boats drift past adds quite a bit to the experience.
What the San Angel Inn Menu Looks Like Now
The current San Angel Inn menu goes beyond basic tacos and enchiladas. Disney currently lists dishes such as Pollo a Las Rajas, Enchiladas de Pollo, Baja Tacos de Pescado, Huarache Vegetariano, gorditas, queso fundido and other Mexican-inspired entrées and appetizers.
Most of the full entrées I checked on the current menu fall roughly in the low-$20s to mid-$30s before drinks, tax and gratuity. For example, Disney currently lists the Huarache Vegetariano at $22, Enchiladas de Pollo at $32 and Pollo a Las Rajas at $33. Prices can change, so I’d check the current San Angel Inn menu before your trip rather than planning around an old menu.
My feeling about the restaurant hasn’t changed much: I come here for the setting first and the food second. I’ve had enjoyable meals here, but EPCOT has too many good restaurants for me to call San Angel Inn the park’s best purely on the strength of the food.
If the atmosphere doesn’t interest you, I wouldn’t book it just because you want Mexican food.
La Hacienda de San Angel Is the Better Choice for a Waterfront Dinner
La Hacienda de San Angel is easy to confuse with San Angel Inn because of the similar name, but it’s a separate restaurant in a completely different setting.
Instead of eating inside the Mexico pyramid, La Hacienda sits along World Showcase Lagoon. The dining room has large windows overlooking the water and feels brighter and more open than San Angel Inn.
It’s also currently a dinner-only restaurant. Disney lists service beginning at 4 p.m., while San Angel Inn serves both lunch and dinner.
The current La Hacienda de San Angel menu includes options such as guacamole, flautas, queso fundido and larger Mexican entrées, along with margaritas, tequila, Mexican beer and wine.
If I were choosing between the two table-service restaurants, I’d make the decision based mostly on the setting: San Angel Inn for the immersive indoor atmosphere, La Hacienda for the lagoon.
La Cantina de San Angel Is the Easy No-Reservation Option
You don’t need to commit an hour or more to a sit-down restaurant just because you want Mexican food at EPCOT.
La Cantina de San Angel is the Mexico Pavilion’s quick-service restaurant along World Showcase Lagoon. The current menu includes tacos, rice bowls, empanadas, nachos, guacamole, churros, margaritas and Mexican sodas.
Current entrée prices are much closer to normal theme park quick-service pricing than the two sit-down restaurants. Disney currently lists several taco plates and bowls around $15 to $17.
This is the option I’d choose if Mexican food sounds good but I don’t want to build my EPCOT itinerary around a dining reservation.
It’s also easy to work into a day spent exploring EPCOT World Showcase because you can stop when you’re hungry rather than working backward from a reservation time.
For Margaritas, I’d Look at La Cava del Tequila First
La Cava del Tequila is tucked inside the Mexico Pavilion’s pyramid, but I wouldn’t treat it as a replacement for San Angel Inn if you’re looking for a full meal.
This is primarily a tequila and cocktail destination. Disney currently advertises more than 200 tequilas, along with specialty margaritas, Mexican beer and wine.
There is food, including light snacks such as guacamole, queso and chips, but the drinks are the main reason I’d come here.
If I wanted to slow down inside the pavilion with a margarita rather than commit to a table-service meal, La Cava del Tequila would make much more sense.
Choza de Margarita Works Better When You Want to Keep Moving
Choza de Margarita is outside near the Mexico Pavilion and is another option that gets overlooked when people search only for EPCOT Mexican restaurants.
The menu centers on hand-blended and frozen margaritas, but Disney currently also sells food such as tacos de cochinita, barbacoa empanadas, pastor quesadillas, tostadas and guacamole.
That makes Choza de Margarita useful when I don’t need an actual restaurant. You can grab something to eat or drink and continue around World Showcase instead of stopping for a longer meal.
San Angel Inn vs. La Hacienda: Which Sit-Down Restaurant Should You Pick?
If you’re specifically looking for a sit-down Mexican restaurant at EPCOT, I’d narrow the decision to these two.
Choose San Angel Inn if: you want the restaurant inside the pyramid, you like immersive Disney environments, you want lunch rather than dinner, or you want to sit beside the Gran Fiesta Tour.
Choose La Hacienda if: you prefer a brighter dining room, want views across World Showcase Lagoon or are looking specifically for dinner.
Neither one is automatically the “best Mexican restaurant at EPCOT.” They solve different problems. Personally, I’d still choose San Angel Inn because the perpetual-night setting is something I can’t easily recreate outside Disney World.
Do You Need Reservations for the EPCOT Mexican Restaurants?
For San Angel Inn and La Hacienda de San Angel, I would make an advance dining reservation. Disney currently says advance reservations are highly recommended for both table-service restaurants.
Walt Disney World dining reservations generally open up to 60 days in advance. Disney Resort hotel Guests can begin booking 60 days before arrival for the length of their stay, up to Disney’s stated limit.
You don’t need to plan that far ahead for La Cantina, La Cava or Choza in the same way. If I’m building an EPCOT itinerary for adults, I’d only lock in a reservation if San Angel Inn or La Hacienda is an important part of the day.
Which EPCOT Mexican Restaurant Would I Choose?
If I had to pick only one, I’d go back to San Angel Inn Restaurante.
It’s not because I think it has unquestionably better food than every other Mexico Pavilion option. I choose it because stepping into that dark dining room beneath the pyramid feels completely different from stopping at another restaurant in a theme park.
If food speed mattered more, I’d go to La Cantina. For a margarita, La Cava. For a sit-down dinner with lagoon views, La Hacienda.
That’s why I think it’s more useful to talk about EPCOT’s Mexican restaurants as a group rather than treating San Angel Inn as the only option. The best one depends on whether you’re looking for atmosphere, a full dinner, quick-service tacos or drinks.
