Disneyland and California Adventure are two of the most Instagrammable places in the world.
To be sure there are hundreds of photos spots in Disneyland. Allow the Nerds to narrow your choices especially if you only have a day or two to explore and capture memories.
Before we get to the list, there are so many ways to get great photos in Disneyland. Here are just a few tips for getting the best shot ever at one of the top photo spots in Disneyland.
1. Take it all in. Be sure to capture the scenery, the grandeur. Look around you, get both the close up shot AND the shot that includes all that Disney provides for a backdrop. You can capture so many details this way.
2. While we are givnng out our top list, be sure to set some time to explore new settings. Maybe you will find a secret spot to enjoy.
3. Colors. Disneyland is full of color. Find positions where the light hits just right and make your favorite Disney attire pop!
4. Take a LOT of photos, there is nothing better than looking back at your photos after you’ve long returned home to see something magical you didn’t know was there. A moment between you and your kiddo, between siblings, a character being over the top.
Another great way to get epic photos is to use Disney’s PhotoPass. This is an option for those who would rather someone else worry about the aforementioned tips and just sit back and enjoy. If this is the route you want to take, be sure to budget it in before you head to Disneyland.

First up on our photo spots in Disneyland list is the Floral Mickey Entrance. This beautiful landscape changes throughout the year. Disney does a phenomenal job creating a breathtaking photo op when entering the park.
The doors to Toontown, located to the right of Minnie’s House, are a fantastic spot to get photos. The oversized doors create an illusion that makes any adult or child feel small. Disney has upped the anti in Toontown at Disneyland by painting murals on the doors.
The Nerds have been riding and taking photo ops on the Mad Tea Party Teacups for years. This photo spot in Disneyland allows for candid moments of laughter or nausea to show up for the fun. Good for any age, this photo op is all about living it up. This ride can be found in Fantasyland behind Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge boasts our next two amazing photo spots in Disneyland. If you grew up watching and loving the Star Wars movies, don’t miss this opportunity to snag a photo in front of the Millenium Falcon.
After taking numerous photos there, head to Rise of the Resistance and capture some moments with the Stormtroopers. Your friends will surely be impressed when you stay calm, cool and collected in front of them.
Heading over to California Adventure, we Nerds love Radiator Springs. Feeling completely immersed in the movie, Cars, is exceptional and the photo opportunities are endless. It is here where we are highlighting two of those best photo spots in Disneyland CA.
First up, the rock formation when you are leaving Cars land. It is dazzling how real this piece of architecture looks. This is a great spot for a large family, couples, friend groups or even a solo photo shoot. The color and lighting are fabulous.
Another great spot in Cars Land is Flo’s. Especially at night. The whole area, when lit up is spectacular. Of course during the day is magic as well, but there is something so special about the old timey feel of those neon lights.
While wandering around Disneyland California Adventure you will surely see the city wall mural. It gives the illusion that you are standing in front of Hollywood in the past. You won’t want to skip this spot.
Finally, we can’t leave out Pixar Pier. Here you will find two more amazing photo spots in Disneyland California Adventure. The Pixar Pal-A-Round is a gorgeous backdrop for any kind of picture. Time your stop correctly and the sunset will give it just the right light to save a memory for years to come.
The entrance to Pixar Pier is also a Nerd favorite. The detail is lovely and welcomes you in. This is a top spot for large groups to take a picture.

Don’t worry, we’ve got it covered…our bonus and ultimate photo spot in Disneyland forever must be Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. You can catch her at so many angles, from far down Main Street, to up close, by the Walt Disney statue, from the side reflecting by the water. Memories are created and captured at this location. So, yes, it is an absolute when visiting the park.
