If you’re looking for the newest hotels near Disneyland, the answer is a little more complicated than it sounds. Anaheim hasn’t had a major wave of brand-new hotels right beside Disneyland in the last year or two. The most recent changes include a newly transformed Disney hotel, an entirely new tower at the Disneyland Hotel, a major 2025 renovation, and several relatively new off-site hotels that opened earlier in the decade.
I think that’s more useful than calling every modern-looking Anaheim hotel “new.” If I specifically wanted newer rooms and facilities near Disneyland, these are the properties I would compare first.
Pixar Place Hotel Is the Most Recent Major Disneyland Hotel Transformation
Pixar Place Hotel officially opened under its new identity on January 30, 2024, after Disney transformed the former Paradise Pier Hotel.
This isn’t a brand-new building, but I would still put it first for someone searching for the newest hotel experience at Disneyland Resort. Disney didn’t just change the sign. The transformation brought redesigned guest rooms, Pixar artwork throughout the hotel, new dining, a new pool area and other updated spaces.
The 15-story hotel has more than 470 rooms and overlooks Disney California Adventure. It’s also one of only three official Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, which makes it fundamentally different from the newer hotels around Anaheim.
I would choose Pixar Place if staying on Disney property matters more to me than having a completely new hotel building.

The Villas at Disneyland Hotel Are Actually New Construction
If I were being strict about the word “new,” this might be the most interesting property on the list.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel opened September 28, 2023 as an entirely new 12-story tower. Disney added 344 accommodations to the existing Disneyland Hotel complex, making it the first new tower there since 1979.
The Villas range from smaller Duo Studios to larger villas designed for families and groups. The rooms lean heavily into Disney Animation artwork and storytelling rather than the retro Disneyland design found in the older hotel towers.
I wouldn’t think of this as a completely separate hotel in the same way I would The Westin or Element. You’re staying within the Disneyland Hotel complex. But if what you really want is some of the newest Disney-owned accommodation in Anaheim, it belongs near the top of the list.

Hilton Anaheim Feels Much Newer After Its 2025 Renovation
Hilton Anaheim is not a new hotel, so I wouldn’t pretend otherwise. What makes it relevant is the scale and recency of its renovation.
Hilton completed a multi-million-dollar full-property renovation in late 2025. The project included reimagined guest rooms and suites, updated restaurants and bars, refreshed event spaces and improvements to outdoor areas.
For me, this is exactly the kind of hotel that deserves to appear in a current guide to newer Disneyland-area accommodations even though the building itself has been there for decades. The rooms and major guest spaces are much fresher than their opening date would suggest.
The hotel is next to the Anaheim Convention Center and is an official Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel. I would consider it if I wanted a large full-service hotel and cared more about a recent renovation than being in a newly constructed building.
The Westin Anaheim Resort Is Still One of the Newest Major Luxury Builds Near Disneyland
The Westin Anaheim Resort opened in June 2021. That may not sound particularly new anymore, but there haven’t been many comparable luxury hotel openings immediately around Disneyland since then.
The property sits on Katella Avenue across from the Disneyland Resort area and next to the Anaheim Convention Center. It’s a AAA Four Diamond hotel with an outdoor pool, several restaurants and lounges, and RISE Rooftop Lounge overlooking the Disney resort area.
If I wanted something that feels more like a modern upscale Southern California hotel than a traditional theme-park hotel, this would be one of my first off-property choices.
I would also compare the actual walking route with the hotels directly across from Disneyland’s Harbor Boulevard entrance. Newer doesn’t automatically mean closer.

Element Anaheim Is One of the Newer Options I Like for Extra Space
Element Anaheim Resort Convention Center also debuted in 2021, alongside the wave of newer hotels that changed the Anaheim Resort District around that time.
I would look at Element for a completely different reason than The Westin. The attraction here is practical space.
Many accommodations have kitchens with features such as a stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, cookware and dishes. Marriott also currently includes breakfast for hotel guests.
That can make Element more useful for a family staying several nights than a fancier hotel room with nowhere to prepare food.
Marriott describes the property as roughly a 10-minute walk from Disneyland Resort. As with any Anaheim hotel, I would still look at the actual route from the hotel to the pedestrian entrance rather than comparing hotels solely by straight-line distance.
The Viv Hotel Is Newer, but I Wouldn’t Call It a New Opening Anymore
This is where the older version of this guide needed one of its biggest corrections.
The hotel is currently The Viv Hotel, Anaheim, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. It isn’t Vīb Anaheim and it isn’t a Best Western property.
The building originally opened in 2020 as the Radisson Blu Anaheim and was rebranded as The Viv in 2022 under Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio.
It’s still relatively new compared with many Anaheim hotels and has modern rooms, family bunk-bed options, two pools and the Top of the V rooftop restaurant. But I wouldn’t describe it as a hotel that “just opened.”
I also wouldn’t describe it as less than a 10-minute walk from Disneyland. The hotel is on Anaheim Boulevard rather than directly opposite the Harbor Boulevard pedestrian entrance, so I would treat it as a hotel where location and transportation need to be evaluated separately from how new the property feels.
What About Cambria, JW Marriott and the Other “New” Anaheim Hotels?
They’re still worth considering, but I don’t think every hotel that opened around 2020 or 2021 needs a full section just to make this list longer.
JW Marriott Anaheim Resort opened in 2020 and remains one of the newer luxury hotels in the area. Cambria Hotel Anaheim Resort is also part of that newer generation of Anaheim hotels and is particularly interesting for families because of its water park.
There are also newer Hilton properties and extended-stay hotels around Anaheim and Garden Grove.
At this point, though, I would describe those as relatively new hotels, not recent openings. That’s why I don’t think it helps to present a huge list where every property is labeled “new.”
Is a New Hotel Near Disneyland Actually Better?
Not necessarily.
If I’m doing long Disneyland park days, I usually care more about the walk at midnight than whether the hotel opened three years ago or fifteen years ago.
A newer hotel a mile away can be less convenient than an older hotel directly across Harbor Boulevard. Parking fees, breakfast, room size and transportation can also erase the advantage of having a newer room.
That’s why I would decide what “new” is supposed to solve for me.
If I want the newest Disney experience, I’d start with Pixar Place Hotel or The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
If I want freshly renovated rooms without paying Disney hotel prices, I’d check Hilton Anaheim.
If I want a relatively new upscale hotel, I’d compare The Westin Anaheim Resort with JW Marriott.
If I want a newer hotel with kitchens and breakfast, Element Anaheim makes more sense to me.
The Newest Hotel Isn’t Always the One I’d Book
If two hotels were similarly priced and similarly located, I’d generally take the newer or more recently renovated one. Fresh rooms, newer bathrooms and updated common spaces are all things I notice during a multi-night stay.
But Disneyland is unusually location-sensitive. A hotel that saves me 10 minutes of walking each way can matter more after a long park day than having the newest lobby in Anaheim.
Before booking, I would compare the real walking route, parking cost, breakfast, room configuration and cancellation terms rather than choosing solely by opening date.
