Tokyo Disneyland Hotel does not open reservations a year ahead like many resort hotels. For a room-only stay booked through Tokyo Disney Resort, reservations currently open at 11:00 a.m. Japan time exactly four calendar months before your check-in date.
If you want to check in on October 20, for example, your booking date is June 20. If a particular Character Room, park-facing room, weekend, or holiday stay matters to you, I would be ready to search when the booking window opens rather than waiting to see what remains later.
The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel 4-Month Booking Rule
Tokyo Disney Resort currently uses the following rule for room-only Disney Hotel reservations:
- Booking opens: Four calendar months before check-in
- Opening time: 11:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time
- Maximum stay per reservation: Five consecutive nights
- Maximum rooms per reservation: Three rooms
This rule applies to room-only bookings made through the official Tokyo Disney Resort Online Reservations & Tickets website.

How to Calculate the Date Your Reservation Opens
The easiest method is to take your planned check-in date and move backward exactly four calendar months.

It is four calendar months, not 120 days.
That matters because different months have different numbers of days.
What Happens When the Same Date Doesn’t Exist Four Months Earlier?
Tokyo Disney Resort has a specific rule for check-in dates that do not have a matching calendar date four months earlier.
The reservation opens at 11:00 a.m. on the first day of the following month.
Disney’s own example is an October 31 check-in. Four months earlier would normally be June 31, but that date does not exist. Reservations therefore open on July 1 at 11:00 a.m. Japan time.
I would use Disney’s calendar rule rather than estimating a fixed number of days backward, especially for stays beginning on the 29th, 30th or 31st.
What Time Do Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Reservations Open?
The official opening time is 11:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time.
Japan stays on JST throughout the year and does not use daylight saving time. Your local booking time can therefore change during the year if your own location changes clocks.
I would convert 11:00 a.m. JST for the actual date you plan to book rather than saving one permanent U.S. time conversion and assuming it is always correct.
For travelers in North America, the reservation window will usually open on the previous calendar day locally because Japan is many hours ahead.
Do You Need to Book Exactly When the Window Opens?
Not every Tokyo Disneyland Hotel room disappears immediately, so I would not describe 11:00 a.m. as a universal make-or-break deadline.
But I would be ready when reservations open if any of these apply:
- You want a particular Character Room.
- You care about a specific view or room category.
- Your dates fall on a weekend.
- You are visiting around a Japanese holiday or school vacation.
- You have no flexibility in your check-in date.
- Tokyo Disneyland Hotel itself is an important part of your trip.
If I only cared about having a reasonably located hotel near the parks, I would not build the entire vacation around winning one particular Tokyo Disneyland Hotel room.
There are many other Tokyo Disneyland hotel options, including Disney Hotels, Official Hotels, Partner Hotels and nearby independent properties.
What I Would Have Ready Before 11:00 a.m.
The reservation itself is easier if you make the important decisions before inventory opens.
- Confirm your exact check-in date. Changing the start date changes the day your reservation window opens.
- Sign in to your MyDisney account beforehand. I would not leave account creation or password recovery until the opening minute.
- Choose your preferred room category. Know whether room type, view, bedding or price is your priority.
- Choose a backup room. If your first choice disappears, you can make a decision without starting your research again.
- Have guest details and payment information available. This makes the booking process easier once you find acceptable inventory.

You Can Book Up to 5 Nights When Your Window Opens
You do not need to wait for each individual night of a multi-night stay to reach the four-month mark.
Tokyo Disney Resort currently allows one room-only reservation to cover up to five consecutive nights and as many as three rooms.
For example, if your reservation window opens for an October 20 check-in and you want to stay October 20 through October 24, you can search for the entire stay when the October 20 booking window opens.
This is particularly useful for travelers spending several days between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea because you are not forced to book the stay one night at a time.
Vacation Packages Do Not Use the Same Fixed Booking Window
The four-month rule is specifically important for room-only Disney Hotel reservations.
Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Packages work differently.
Disney announces sales periods for Vacation Packages separately, and the release date can vary based on the package and travel period. I would not calculate four months backward and assume that is when a package will appear.

What if Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Is Already Sold Out?
I would not assume a sold-out date is permanently gone.
Guests cancel and modify reservations, which can cause individual rooms or room categories to appear again on the official booking calendar.
There is no guaranteed time when canceled rooms return, so this becomes a matter of checking periodically rather than waiting for a scheduled inventory release.
If the hotel matters but the trip dates matter more, I would reserve a sensible backup with a cancellation policy I’m comfortable with and continue checking Tokyo Disneyland Hotel separately.

Booking Early Does Not Automatically Mean a Cheaper Room
The advantage of booking when the window opens is choice, not a guaranteed early-booking discount.
Tokyo Disneyland Hotel room rates vary by date and room category. Opening-day availability can give you more room choices, including lower-priced categories, but Disney does not advertise the four-month booking window as an advance-purchase discount.
If price is more important than a particular room, compare multiple dates and hotel categories rather than assuming the first day available is automatically the cheapest.

The booking window gets most of the attention, but I would confirm a few practical details before choosing an expensive room simply because it is available.

The Booking Date Matters More Than How Early You Start Planning
You can plan a Tokyo Disney trip a year ahead, but that does not let you reserve a room-only stay at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel a year ahead through Disney.
The useful date is the one exactly four months before check-in at 11:00 a.m. Japan time.
If I had a specific room in mind, I would calculate that date as soon as my itinerary was settled, set a reminder, and have a backup category ready. If I missed the first release, I would keep checking for cancellations while holding another hotel rather than allowing one sold-out room to dictate the entire Japan trip.
