Hotels Within Walking Distance of Hollywood Studios

Six hotels are within walking distance of Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Walt Disney World Swan, Walt Disney World Dolphin, Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Depending on the hotel, your room location, and your pace, the walk to the park entrance usually takes about 10 to 30 minutes.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is the closest of the group. The other five remain practical choices if you want to reach Hollywood Studios without depending on a bus, boat, or Skyliner. For a broader look at every way to get around the resort, see my Disney World transportation guide.

BoardWalk Villas uses the same route as BoardWalk Inn, while Beach Club Villas uses the same general route as Beach Club Resort. I have grouped those villa accommodations with their connected resorts rather than counting them as separate hotels.

Do All Six Hotels Include Early Theme Park Entry?

Yes. Disney currently lists all six hotels as eligible for 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry at its theme parks. The benefit applies on check-in and check-out days for registered guests with valid park admission. All six are also currently eligible for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select dates at select parks.

That does not mean every hotel benefit is identical. BoardWalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club belong to the Disney Resorts Collection, while Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are Marriott-operated. Review my guide to hotels with Disney World perks if benefits beyond park access could affect your choice.

Which Hotel Is Closest to Hollywood Studios?

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is the closest hotel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Most guests can reach the park in roughly 10 to 15 minutes, although a well-positioned room and a brisk pace may shorten the walk. Disney also identifies BoardWalk Inn as being within walking distance of Hollywood Studios.

I have made this walk in the morning for park opening and again after a late night at Hollywood Studios. The real advantage is not saving a precise number of minutes. It is knowing that I can leave when I want without waiting for a vehicle or joining a transportation line. I cover the exact winner and its nearest alternatives more closely in my guide to the closest resort to Hollywood Studios.

The Six Walkable Hotels and Who Each One Suits

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn: Best for the Shortest Walk

BoardWalk Inn is my first choice when fast, flexible access to Hollywood Studios matters most. The path leaves the BoardWalk area and follows the waterway toward the park. It is paved and mostly level, but much of it is exposed to the Florida sun.

The resort is also convenient for EPCOT, restaurants around Crescent Lake, and the evening activity along Disney’s BoardWalk. The tradeoff is price. BoardWalk is a Deluxe Resort, so the location can carry a substantial premium. If you are comparing the overall experience rather than distance alone, my Disney World Deluxe Resorts comparison puts its location and amenities in context.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin: Best Potential Value

The Swan and Dolphin are Marriott-operated hotels located inside the EPCOT resort area. Both have direct access to the same larger network of paths leading to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. They also provide Friendship Boat service when you do not want to walk.

I would price these hotels against BoardWalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club before booking. Swan and Dolphin rates can be attractive, especially if you have Marriott points, but resort fees, parking charges, and the final room type can change the comparison. The Swan generally feels smaller and quieter, while the Dolphin has more rooms and a busier convention-hotel atmosphere. My Swan vs Dolphin guide breaks down the choice between them.

Walt Disney World Swan Reserve: Best for a Newer Hotel Feel

Swan Reserve is the missing option in many older lists of hotels near Hollywood Studios. It sits across the road from the Swan and Dolphin complex and has a more compact, contemporary feel. A pedestrian route connects it with the resort area and the path to Hollywood Studios.

It does not have its own Friendship Boat dock. Guests walk to the dock shared by the Swan and Dolphin when they prefer the boat. I would choose Swan Reserve for newer accommodations or a quieter base, not because it beats BoardWalk on walking time.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort: Best for a Quieter Deluxe Stay

Yacht Club is farther from Hollywood Studios than BoardWalk, Swan, and Dolphin, but the walk is still reasonable for many guests. The resort has a more subdued nautical style and shares Stormalong Bay with Beach Club.

I like Yacht Club for adults, couples, and families who want easy access to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT without staying directly on the BoardWalk. It is also close to a Friendship Boat stop, which is useful during a hot afternoon or when your legs need a break.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort: Best for Families and Pool Time

Beach Club is usually the longest walk in this group because it sits closer to EPCOT’s International Gateway. It remains walkable, but I would not book it solely to minimize the trip to Hollywood Studios. Its stronger advantages are quick EPCOT access and Stormalong Bay, the large pool complex shared with Yacht Club.

Beach Club makes the most sense when your trip is split between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, especially if the pool is an important part of your resort days. If access to both parks matters, compare this list with my guide to hotels within walking distance of EPCOT.

Should You Walk or Take the Friendship Boat?

Walking is usually the most predictable choice because there is no schedule or boarding line. It is particularly useful before Hollywood Studios rope drop and immediately after the park closes, when transportation queues can build.

The Friendship Boat can be the better choice in midday heat, heavy rain, or when you have already spent hours on your feet. It serves Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, BoardWalk, Yacht and Beach Club, and the Swan and Dolphin area. Because the boat makes multiple stops, it is not always faster than walking.

  • Walk when: You want a predictable arrival, are trying to reach early entry, or see a long line at the boat dock.
  • Take the boat when: Heat, rain, fatigue, or mobility needs make the walk less appealing.
  • Reconsider the route when: Severe weather is nearby or Disney has temporarily restricted a path or transportation service.

Nearby Resorts That Are Not Within Walking Distance

Caribbean Beach, Riviera, Pop Century, and Art of Animation have convenient Skyliner access to Hollywood Studios, but they are not practical walking hotels. There is no public guest walkway from those resorts to the park entrance. They can still be good alternatives if a gondola ride matters more than walking, especially at a lower price than the Deluxe resorts around Crescent Lake. See the full list of Disney World resorts with Skyliner access before comparing rates.

Other hotels described as being “near Hollywood Studios” may be geographically close but still require a bus, rideshare, or car. Do not assume that a short driving distance means a pedestrian path exists.

My Short Recommendation

  • Choose BoardWalk Inn when the shortest possible walk is your priority.
  • Compare Swan and Dolphin first when price or Marriott points could influence the decision.
  • Choose Swan Reserve when you prefer a newer and quieter hotel.
  • Choose Yacht Club for a calmer Deluxe atmosphere and a strong location between two parks.
  • Choose Beach Club when Stormalong Bay and the shortest EPCOT walk matter more than being closest to Hollywood Studios.

If you are still comparing hotels across every park area, use my Disney World hotel comparison chart rather than choosing on Hollywood Studios access alone.
