The Complete List of ALL the Rides at Disney Hollywood Studios (10 Rides)

Hollywood Studios doesn’t have the most rides out of all the Disney parks, but in my experience, the ones it does have are some of the most memorable. It’s definitely more about the big, high-production attractions than constant ride-hopping. If you're planning your day and trying to figure out what's worth the time (and what you can skip), I hope this list helps.

These are all the current rides at Hollywood Studios, along with my honest take on which ones I’d prioritize – and some tips I’ve learned the hard way over the years.

List of all the rides at Disney Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to a diverse lineup of rides, offering something for every kind of visitor. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker looking for high-speed adventures, a Star Wars fan ready to join the Resistance, or a family wanting to enjoy whimsical, kid-friendly attractions, this park has it all.

Below, you’ll find a complete list of all the rides currently available at Disney Hollywood Studios, so you can plan your day and hit all the must-do attractions!

Thrill Rides at Hollywood Studios

I really like this ride – only if I’m the pilot. That part is actually interactive and exciting. If you end up as a gunner or engineer, it’s still fun, but less engaging. The queue is impressive, especially for Star Wars fans, and I usually try to time it during a lull in crowds when the line dips below 45 minutes.

Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster

I have a soft spot for this one. It’s fast, loud, and pitch dark – and that launch at the beginning gets me every time. That said, it's intense. If you’re not into inversions or loud music, you might want to skip it. (And as of early 2025, it’s temporarily closed for refurbishment, so check before you go.)

Slinky Dog Dash

Yes, it’s technically a family coaster, but I think it’s one of the most fun rides in the park. The turns are smooth, the view of Toy Story Land is great (especially at sunset), and it just has a good energy. The only catch is the line – it’s long all day. I usually try to rope drop this or use Genie+ if I can grab a slot.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

This is hands-down the most impressive ride I’ve ever done at Disney – and maybe anywhere. It’s not just a ride; it’s like stepping into a full-blown Star Wars story. Even if you're not a huge fan of the movies, it's hard not to be blown away by the sets, the cast members in character, and the whole scale of it. The downside? It’s super popular, and the line reflects that. I either rope drop it or bite the bullet and pay for the Individual Lightning Lane. Totally worth it either way.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

This is a Disney classic that still holds up. It’s spooky, not gory, and the theming is incredible – it genuinely feels like you’ve stepped into a weird old movie. I’ve done it more times than I can count, and the drop pattern still surprises me every time.

Pro tip: it’s a great ride to hit late afternoon or right before park close when the line dies down a little.

Family-Friendly Rides

Alien Swirling Saucers

If I’m being honest, I don’t really go out of my way for this one. It’s cute and fun for younger kids, and the music and lights are charming. But if you’re short on time or just visiting as adults, you’re not missing much by skipping it.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

I wasn’t expecting much the first time I rode this, but it ended up being one of my favorites. It’s trackless, which makes it super smooth, and the whole thing is so creative and joyful. No height requirement means anyone can ride, and it’s a great pick if you’re with a mixed-age group. I always recommend doing it early in the day or keeping an eye on the app for a dip in wait times.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue

Even though it’s been around a while, I still like hopping on Star Tours. It’s a motion simulator with rotating scenes, so it’s different almost every time. It’s not as immersive as Rise of the Resistance, but I’ve rarely waited more than 15–20 minutes for it. I usually ride it mid-day when the other lines are at their worst.

Toy Story Mania!

This one is just plain fun. It’s a 4D carnival game where you try to beat your score – or the person sitting next to you. It’s indoors, air-conditioned, and perfect for a mid-day break when you need to get off your feet for a bit. I’ve had days where I skipped it due to long lines, but it’s definitely worth doing at least once.

Tips for Planning Your Visit to Hollywood Studios

Planning ahead can make your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios much smoother and more enjoyable.

  • Arrive early. If you want to ride the big attractions without long waits or paying extra, you’ve got to get there at rope drop. I usually head straight to either Rise of the Resistance or Slinky Dog Dash first thing.
  • Use Genie+ wisely. I’ve found it’s most helpful at Hollywood Studios for Slinky Dog, Tower of Terror, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Some of the others (like Star Tours or Alien Swirling Saucers) usually don’t need it.
  • Watch the app throughout the day. Wait times fluctuate constantly. I’ve been surprised at how often a ride like Smugglers Run or Toy Story Mania! drops to under 30 minutes if I check during odd times.
  • Be realistic with your time. There aren’t as many rides here as in Magic Kingdom, but most of them are long, high-effort experiences. I usually aim to do 5–6 major attractions, mixed with a couple smaller ones and some breaks in between.
