World of Color Dessert Party (Worth It?)

If you like desserts and you love seeing Pixar Pier alive with bright colors and projections of your favorite Disney movies, then splurging on the World of Color Dessert Party is worth it.

(The Ultimate Guide to Disneyland)

World of Color Dessert Party – The Location

In Disneyland’s California Adventure directly across from the Pixar Pal-A-Round and in front of Ariel’s Undersea Adventure there is prime seating for the nightly World of Color spectacular in the Paradise Garden Park.

Just above the open seating area is a roped off section for patrons who hold tickets for the Dessert Party.

There are round tables set-up for larger groups or smaller tables for pairings or trios. These bar top tables allow optimum viewing of the gorgeous water and light show

World of Color Dessert Party – The Experience

You easily feel like a VIP entering the roped off area and being escorted to your seats.

We Nerds have been to the dessert party a couple of times and we hit the jackpot with our cast members.

Betty enhanced our experience by joking with us, keeping our drinks full and taking several pictures of us with the phenomenal backdrop.

World of Color Dessert Party – The Desserts

It’s actually more than desserts!

Which works perfectly for The Nerd and Co as some of us enjoy the sweet while others prefer the savory options.

Each plate has seedless grapes, three types of cheeses, raspberry filled shortbread, a rainbow crispie, blueberry raspberry Bundt cake and triple chocolate cheesecake.

The cheese and grape combo is a great off-set to the very sweet desserts.

The Nerd particularly enjoys the rainbow crispie while other Nerdy members love the cheese! It is not an uncommon occurrence that food swaps happen around the table.

You also have choices of beverages from water, sodas and alcoholic drinks (they keep the alcohol to a 2 drink maximum).

During special holiday times in the park, the menu can change to reflect the season.

World of Color Dessert Party – The Show

This Disneyland California Adventure nighttime spectacular does not disappoint.

The backdrop of Pixar Pier, the manipulation of water and lights, the images of classic Disney movies and the music – oh the music – come together to make one of the more beautiful Disney shows The Nerd has seen.

This 22 minute explosion is completely different from a fireworks show and is more in line with the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, only much bigger and better!

We Nerds love singing along to the music and oohing and aahing as the scenes change throughout the course of the show.

World of Color Dessert Party – The Details

As you can see, the World of Color Dessert Party is absolutely worth the price of the ticket.

So, what is that price? Each ticket, for any age, is $89.

That may seem steep, but if you consider the perfect seating, the delicious desserts and unlimited soft drinks and water, not to mention the amazing memories you will make with your friends and family.

Don’t forget that you have to make reservations and purchase your tickets in advance.

This also means making sure you have your park reservation as well.

If you have to cancel your reservation, be sure to do so more than 24 hours in advance, you will not receive a refund if you are a no show or cancel day of.

Planning ahead is imperative.

However another upside to attending the World of Color Dessert Party is that after a long day in the park, you get prime seating to enjoy yourself and relax.

Seating begins an hour before the show starts, so you have a great opportunity to rest and rejuvenate.
