Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is the Walt Disney World Resort hotel with the most practical direct walking access to Disney Springs. The pedestrian route connects the resort near Congress Park with the Marketplace side of Disney Springs.
If walking to Disney Springs is one of your main hotel priorities, Congress Park is the section I would request. I have made the walk from that area many times, and it has usually taken me about eight minutes at a normal pace.
Other Disney resorts in the area, including Old Key West and both Port Orleans resorts, have convenient transportation to Disney Springs, but I would not choose them specifically for a direct Disney Springs walk.
Saratoga Springs is the Disney resort to choose if you want to walk to Disney Springs
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa sits directly across the water from Disney Springs, and a pedestrian bridge connects the resort area with Disney Springs.
The exact walking time depends heavily on which part of Saratoga Springs you stay in. This is a large resort, so a room on the opposite side of the property can add quite a bit of walking before you even reach the Disney Springs path.
If Disney Springs will be part of several evenings during your vacation, that makes your room location unusually important.
Congress Park has the shortest walk
Congress Park is the Saratoga Springs section closest to the pedestrian bridge to Disney Springs.
Disney’s current resort information places the Congress Park buildings immediately beside the walkway. Rooms in the 1101 through 1436 building are among the accommodations closest to the bridge.
From Congress Park, I have generally made the walk in about eight minutes. Someone staying elsewhere at Saratoga Springs should expect a longer trip.
Disney’s My Disney Experience directions can estimate roughly 15 to 22 minutes from Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs depending on the starting location, which better reflects the resort as a whole.

Where does the Saratoga Springs walkway enter Disney Springs?
The Congress Park route brings you toward the Marketplace side of Disney Springs.
That puts you near the eastern end of the complex, making the walk particularly convenient for places around Marketplace.
Disney Springs itself stretches much farther west through The Landing, Town Center and West Side, so remember that reaching Disney Springs does not necessarily mean you have reached your final restaurant or shop.

Can you walk from Old Key West to Disney Springs?
I would not treat Old Key West as a Disney Springs walking resort when choosing a hotel today.
Older Disney planning information references the Conch Flats Trail and routes connecting Old Key West toward Saratoga Springs. That is why you may still find older articles describing a walk to Disney Springs.
Disney’s current Old Key West information, however, lists watercraft and motorcoach as its transportation options. Disney also currently identifies Saratoga Springs as the Walt Disney World Resort hotel within walking distance of Disney Springs.
If you stay at Old Key West, I would plan on the complimentary Sassagoula River Cruise or Disney bus rather than selecting the resort because you expect a short pedestrian route.

Can you walk from Port Orleans to Disney Springs?
No direct pedestrian path currently connects Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter with Disney Springs.
This is an important correction because the resorts sit along the Sassagoula River and have attractive riverside walking paths. Those paths connect Riverside and French Quarter with each other, but they do not continue as a normal guest walkway into Disney Springs.
Disney’s current jogging information describes a 1.7-mile promenade connecting the two Port Orleans resorts. For Disney Springs, Disney directs guests toward watercraft or bus transportation.
So if you see someone walking beside the Sassagoula River at Port Orleans, that does not mean there is a continuous pedestrian route to Disney Springs.

Port Orleans has one of the better alternatives to walking
The lack of a walking path is less inconvenient than it might sound because both Port Orleans resorts have direct boat transportation to Disney Springs.
The complimentary Sassagoula River Cruise currently connects Disney Springs with:
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter;
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside;
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort; and
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
From French Quarter, the boat trip is generally around 20 minutes. Water transportation can be affected by weather and water conditions, so Disney buses remain a backup.

You do not need to take the boat from Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs also has complimentary water-taxi service to Disney Springs.
Disney currently lists one boat launch near the Treehouse Villas and another a short walk from The Turf Club Bar and Grill.
But if you are staying in Congress Park, walking can be more convenient because you do not need to wait for a boat or work around its operating schedule.
That flexibility is what I value most about staying there. Dinner reservations, shopping trips and late-evening visits become much easier when you can simply leave whenever you are ready.
Is Congress Park worth requesting?
If Disney Springs access is one of the main reasons you chose Saratoga Springs, yes, Congress Park is the section I would prioritize.
The trade-off is that another part of the resort may be more convenient for a different amenity. A room close to Disney Springs is not necessarily the room closest to the main lobby, feature pool or every other resort facility.
Think about what you expect to use most frequently before submitting the room request.

What if you want a hotel within walking distance but not a Disney Resort?
Saratoga Springs is not the only hotel in the wider Disney Springs area that you can reach on foot.
Disney currently recognizes seven Disney Springs Resort Area hotels, and the group is promoted specifically for its convenient location within walking distance of Disney Springs.
Those are independently operated hotels rather than Disney Resorts Collection hotels, so their amenities, transportation and Disney benefits differ from Saratoga Springs.

Is Saratoga Springs the closest Disney resort to Disney Springs?
For practical pedestrian access, Saratoga Springs is the Disney Resort that matters most.
Congress Park sits immediately across from Disney Springs, and the pedestrian bridge removes the need to rely on buses or boats.
That makes it particularly useful for adults who plan to spend evenings dining or having drinks at Disney Springs. It can also be convenient for families who want easy access to shopping and restaurants outside the hotel.

Should Disney Springs access determine where you stay?
Only if Disney Springs will actually be a meaningful part of the trip.
Saratoga Springs gives you excellent Disney Springs access, but it does not give you the same theme park proximity as a monorail resort near Magic Kingdom or an EPCOT-area hotel that lets you walk to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
If most of your time will be spent in the four theme parks, compare the complete transportation picture rather than choosing Saratoga Springs solely because you can walk to dinner.

Disney Springs walkability is most useful at night
I find the walkway most valuable after dinner or shopping.
Instead of checking a transportation schedule or waiting for a bus, you can simply walk back to Congress Park when you are finished.
The same convenience works in the other direction if you want an easy dinner night without entering a theme park.
