If you want to be within walking distance to Disney Springs, your best bets are Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney's Old Key West Resort. Both offer direct access via paved walking paths.
Additionally, Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter and Port Orleans – Riverside have scenic riverside paths that can get you close to Disney Springs, although they’re not as direct and most guests opt for the boat service instead.
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
This is the most convenient option if walking to Disney Springs is high on your priority list. The path from Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs is short, well-lit, and takes you directly into the Marketplace side near Rainforest Cafe and World of Disney.
If you want the absolute shortest walk, book a room in the Congress Park section of the resort. That’s the area right across the lake from Disney Springs – literally a 5-10 minute walk depending on your pace.
Saratoga Springs is a Deluxe Villa resort, meaning it's a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) property. But you don’t have to be a DVC member to stay there. You can book directly through Disney or third-party sites. Prices usually start around $450 per night, but can go much higher depending on the room type and time of year.
Rooms are spacious and include studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and even treehouse villas for larger groups. The vibe is peaceful and the walking access to Disney Springs is unmatched.
Old Key West Resort
Old Key West is another DVC resort with a pathway to Disney Springs. The walk is longer and more meandering, following the Sassagoula River. It’s scenic and tranquil, but not ideal if you’re in a hurry or have tired feet from the parks.
Walking from the Hospitality House area to Disney Springs can take 20–30 minutes, especially in the summer heat. Still, it’s a nice option to have, especially if you’re staying in one of the buildings closer to the river trail.
Prices for Old Key West typically start around $400 per night, though you can sometimes snag better deals during off-peak times. Like Saratoga, the rooms are large and family-friendly, especially the one- and two-bedroom villas.
Port Orleans Resorts
Technically, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside don’t have an official path that leads all the way to Disney Springs. However, many guests do walk along the Sassagoula River Trail to get close. It’s a longer walk and not officially promoted by Disney, but it’s possible.
That said, I don’t recommend relying on this as your main way to access Disney Springs on foot. The walk is longer (30+ minutes) and less direct than what you’ll get at Saratoga Springs.
Instead, take the free boat service from the resort dock. The boats are a relaxing and scenic way to travel, and they drop you off right in the heart of Disney Springs. It’s one of the most enjoyable transportation options on property.
Rooms at Port Orleans typically start around $280–$350 per night, depending on which section and the season. These resorts are classified as Moderate Resorts, offering a nice balance between affordability and atmosphere.
What It’s Like to Walk to Disney Springs
I’ve done the walk from Saratoga Springs many times, especially in the evenings when the lights of Disney Springs reflect off the water and the crowds are buzzing. It’s one of my favorite things about staying there. The path is wide, paved, and peaceful, and it drops you in right next to the Marketplace area.
It usually takes me about 8 minutes from a Congress Park room to Disney Springs. No buses, no waiting, no schedule to follow.
From Old Key West, the walk is beautiful but longer. You follow the river most of the way, and it’s shaded in spots. I’d only recommend doing it early in the morning or after sunset to avoid the heat. If you're staying farther from the main building, it could add several minutes to the trek.
As for Port Orleans, I’ve tried walking it once and probably won’t do it again. The boat is far more enjoyable and saves your feet for park days.
Should You Pick a Resort Based on Walkability to Disney Springs?
It depends on your trip priorities.
If Disney Springs is a big part of your plans – say, you’ve got dining reservations at places like Morimoto Asia or Jaleo, or you enjoy nightlife at The Edison – then yes, staying within walking distance can seriously enhance your trip.
You’ll also get the benefit of being able to duck back to your room easily if you need to drop off shopping bags, freshen up, or just take a break.
But walkability isn’t everything. If theme park access is more important to you, you may want to check out other options that prioritize proximity to the parks. For example, Saratoga is great for Disney Springs but not as close to the Magic Kingdom as the monorail resorts.
