Best Restaurants at Disney Springs

If you are trying to find the best restaurants at Disney Springs, my honest answer is that the top choices are The BOATHOUSE, Wine Bar George, Morimoto Asia, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, Raglan Road, and Summer House on the Lake, but the best one for you depends on whether you want a date-night dinner, a fun group meal, a comfort-food stop, or something lighter.

I have spent enough time eating around Disney Springs to know that some restaurants are genuinely worth planning around, while others are better if you care more about theme or convenience than the food itself. If I only had one meal here, I would absolutely be strategic about it.

Disney Springs is one of the better places to eat during a Walt Disney World trip because it gives you more range than most park dining. It feels more like a real dining district, and when I want a meal that feels less rushed, this is usually where I would rather eat.

That said, the vibe changes a lot depending on the time of day. Lunch and early dinner feel much easier. Late evenings can get packed enough that even a good restaurant feels less relaxing than it should.

If you want the bigger picture before choosing where to eat, I would start with this guide to Disney Springs and then glance at the official Disney Springs dining page.

Best restaurants at Disney Springs for different kinds of meals

One reason I like dining here is that Disney Springs is not all the same thing repeated over and over. You can do a polished waterfront dinner, a louder pub meal with live entertainment, a big comfort-food lunch, or a more relaxed wine-focused meal.

That is why I never like giving just one answer without context. The better question is what kind of experience you want.

Best overall: The BOATHOUSE

The BOATHOUSE

If someone asked me for one restaurant that is easiest to recommend to almost anybody, I would probably say The BOATHOUSE.

The location right on the water gives it a stronger sense of place than a lot of Disney-area restaurants. It feels polished without getting too formal, and the menu is broad enough that it works for groups with different tastes.

This is the kind of place I think is worth building an evening around. If I want a nice dinner at Disney Springs that still feels approachable, this is usually near the top of my list.

Best for Southern comfort food: Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

Homecomin’ is one of the most popular restaurants in Disney Springs for a reason. If I am in the mood for a hearty meal that actually feels satisfying, this is one of the strongest picks.

This is not where I would go for something light, but it is exactly where I would go when fried chicken, biscuits, and comfort food sound better than anything else. It feels casual enough to fit a vacation day, but it is also one of those places people talk about afterward.

It can feel very busy during prime dinner hours, so I think it works best when you plan ahead or aim for lunch.

Best for a relaxed lunch or date night: Wine Bar George

Wine Bar George is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney Springs when I want the meal to feel a little calmer and more grown-up.

Some restaurants here are more about energy and movement. This one feels more like a place to settle in, slow down, and actually enjoy the conversation. I think that makes it one of the best date-night picks in the area.

It also works well for lunch if you want a break from heavier theme park meals. When I want Disney Springs to feel a little more relaxed and less frantic, this is one of the first places I consider.

Best for a memorable dinner: Morimoto Asia

Morimoto Asia is the restaurant I would choose when I want dinner to feel a little more distinct and memorable.

The room has a stronger visual identity than most places around Disney Springs, and the menu feels different enough from the usual American vacation-food rotation that it stands out. When I eat here, it feels more like an actual night out than a convenient meal stop.

This is a good pick when I want something stylish, flavorful, and a little less predictable.

Best for a lively group dinner: Raglan Road

Raglan Road works best when the mood is energetic.

If I am with a group that wants live entertainment, a more social atmosphere, and a dinner that feels like part of the night’s activity, this is one of the better choices. It has a lot more personality than a standard sit-down restaurant.

I would not choose it when I want a quiet meal, but I would absolutely choose it when the group wants something fun and lively.

Best for a lighter, breezier meal: Summer House on the Lake

Summer House on the Lake feels lighter and more modern than a lot of the restaurants nearby, and I think that helps it stand out.

Some Disney dining can feel heavy, dark, or a little too committed to the theme. This one feels brighter and easier. That makes it a good fit for brunch, lunch, or a dinner where I do not want to leave feeling weighed down.

If I want something that feels fresh without being overly formal, this is a very appealing option.

Best for theming and kids who love dinosaurs: T-Rex Cafe

T-Rex Cafe is the kind of restaurant I would choose more for the experience than the food.

If I am eating with kids who love dinosaurs, or I want a meal that feels like part of the entertainment, this is one of the most obvious picks at Disney Springs. The inside is loud, dramatic, and fully committed to the theme, which is really the main reason to go. It feels more like stepping into an attraction than sitting down for a normal restaurant meal.

That is also why I would not put it in the same category as places like The BOATHOUSE, Wine Bar George, or Morimoto Asia if I am strictly ranking food quality. T-Rex Cafe is much more about atmosphere, visual fun, and keeping the whole group engaged.

I think it works best when the goal is giving kids a memorable break from the parks, especially if your group has reached the point where a standard sit-down meal sounds too boring. The giant animatronic dinosaurs, glowing rooms, and overall energy give it a built-in excitement that a lot of other Disney Springs restaurants do not have.

I would not choose it for date night or for the best actual meal at Disney Springs, but I would absolutely keep it in mind for families who care about theme as much as food. In that situation, T-Rex Cafe makes a lot more sense than some of the better restaurants that are less fun for kids.

Where I would eat based on the kind of trip I am having

This is usually the easiest way to choose. I do not think there is one perfect answer for everybody because the best restaurant changes depending on the trip.

If I only have one dinner at Disney Springs

I would usually choose The BOATHOUSE or Morimoto Asia.

The BOATHOUSE is the safer all-around answer because it appeals to more people and has a strong setting. Morimoto Asia is the one I would choose if I want the meal to feel more memorable and a little more unique.

If I am planning a date night

Wine Bar George is one of my first choices.

It feels more conversation-friendly than some of the louder restaurants nearby, and the overall atmosphere feels more intentionally adult. The BOATHOUSE is also a strong date-night choice if you want something a little more scenic and celebratory.

If I am with kids or a mixed family group

This is where the choice becomes more about priorities.

If the goal is the strongest actual meal, I would still lean toward The BOATHOUSE or Homecomin’. If the goal is keeping the experience more active and entertaining, Raglan Road can be the better fit.

Sometimes it also helps just to look across the full list of all the restaurants at Disney Springs before locking into one reservation, especially if the group has very different tastes.

If I want a lighter meal or a daytime stop

Wine Bar George and Summer House on the Lake make the most sense to me here.

They feel better suited to a slower lunch or midday break than some of the heavier options. If I am already planning to get there early, I also like comparing them with the better options for breakfast in Disney Springs so I can decide whether the area works better for morning food or a later meal.

Restaurants I would reserve ahead of time

Not every Disney Springs meal needs to be locked in early, but some places are much easier to enjoy when you are not relying on luck.

This matters most on weekends, holidays, and evenings when the area starts to feel crowded fast.

I would absolutely try to reserve The BOATHOUSE, Homecomin’, Wine Bar George, Morimoto Asia, and Raglan Road if one of those is the restaurant I really want. Those are the places where showing up hungry and hoping for the best can easily turn into a long wait.

What I think is overrated or just depends on your expectations

I do not think Disney Springs has many truly bad restaurants, but I do think some places get chosen for theme, convenience, or familiarity more than for food quality.

That is not always a problem. Sometimes the point is just keeping the group happy or making the meal easy. But if I am focusing on the best actual dining experience, I would stay centered on places like The BOATHOUSE, Morimoto Asia, Wine Bar George, Homecomin’, Raglan Road, and Summer House on the Lake.

I would also be careful about making a decision only after you are already standing in the middle of a crowded evening at Disney Springs. That is usually when people settle instead of choosing well.

Practical tips that make Disney Springs dining easier

The restaurant matters, but so do the logistics around it.

Go earlier if you want a calmer atmosphere

This is probably the most useful advice I can give.

Disney Springs feels very different earlier in the day. Lunch and early dinner are much easier if you want to actually enjoy the setting instead of navigating heavy crowds the whole time.

Think through your bags and timing before you arrive

A lot of people end up at Disney Springs before check-in, after check-out, or in the middle of a transfer day.

If that sounds like your situation, it is worth reading about luggage storage at Disney Springs before you build a meal around the area. That kind of practical detail can make the whole outing smoother.

Choose based on the mood of the day

This sounds obvious, but it really matters here.

A restaurant that is perfect for date night is not always right after a long park day, and a place that sounds exciting online is not always what I want when I am tired, hungry, and just want a good meal without effort.

My honest ranking if a friend asked me where to eat first

If a friend asked me where I would personally start, this is roughly how I would answer.

The BOATHOUSE is my best overall recommendation because it combines atmosphere, broad appeal, and a meal that feels worth the time.

Wine Bar George is one of my favorite choices for a more relaxed and grown-up meal.

Morimoto Asia is the pick when I want something memorable and a little more distinctive.

Homecomin’ is a great answer when comfort food is exactly what sounds good.

Raglan Road is the move when the group wants energy and entertainment.

Summer House on the Lake is one of the best choices when I want a brighter, lighter meal that still feels special.
