How Much Is Aulani Resort? What a Stay Really Costs

Aulani prices vary considerably by travel dates, room type and view, but Disney’s published sample rate calendar currently starts standard rooms at $484 per night during Value Season. Its sample starting rates rise to $504 during Regular Season, $579 during Peak Season and $659 during Holiday Season, before tax.

Those are starting prices, not average rates or guaranteed prices for your dates. Upgraded views, villas and high-demand nights can cost substantially more.

One piece of good news is easy to miss when comparing Aulani with other Hawaii resorts: Aulani does not charge a separate daily resort fee. You still need to account for taxes, transportation, parking if applicable, meals and whatever paid experiences you add.

Current Aulani Room Price Benchmarks

Disney publishes a seasonal sample rate calendar for a standard room. I would use these figures as a starting point for budgeting, then search your exact dates because availability and pricing change.

Disney SeasonSample Standard Room Starting RateImportant
Value SeasonFrom $484 per nightBefore tax
Regular SeasonFrom $504 per nightBefore tax
Peak SeasonFrom $579 per nightBefore tax
Holiday SeasonFrom $659 per nightBefore tax

Disney notes that these are sample starting rates for standard rooms and are subject to availability and change.

In other words, seeing “from $484” does not mean you should expect every Value Season date to produce a $484 room.

You can check current availability through the official Aulani booking site.

Does Aulani Have a Resort Fee?

No. Aulani does not charge a mandatory daily resort fee.

That is an important distinction when comparing Aulani with other resorts in Hawaiʻi. A hotel with a cheaper advertised room rate can become much closer in price once a daily resort charge is added.

Aulani’s lack of a resort fee does not mean the room rate is your entire vacation cost. Taxes still apply, and expenses such as meals, some parking arrangements, spa treatments and premium resort experiences are separate.

What the Aulani Room Rate Includes

The room rate buys much more than a place to sleep. Registered resort guests get access to many of the property’s biggest recreation features without another daily admission charge.

Complimentary boogie boards and life jacketsPremium crafts and selected activities

Most regular Aunty’s Beach House programming for ages 4–12Excursions and off-property activities

Disney currently identifies attractions such as Waikolohe Pool, Waikolohe Stream, Ka Maka Grotto and Wailana Pool as included with a resort stay.

Aunty’s Beach House serves children ages 4 to 12, with most regular activities complimentary and certain premium experiences available for an additional fee.

This is why I would not evaluate Aulani strictly as a $500, $700 or $900 hotel room. Part of the rate is paying for a resort where you can spend much of the day without buying another ticket.

What I Actually Paid for Aulani

On my own early-May trip, our Partial Ocean View hotel room came to roughly $750 per night including taxes and fees.

I would treat that as a firsthand example rather than a rate you should expect to duplicate. Aulani pricing changes by date, room inventory, view category and whatever discounts Disney is offering when you book.

The bigger lesson from my stay was that the room category matters. A Standard View room and an Ocean View room on the same dates can produce a very different total even though both guests receive access to the same major resort amenities.

If you’re trying to decide whether paying for a better view or a larger accommodation makes sense, my Aulani hotel room guide breaks down the room types and view categories separately.

Why Aulani Room Prices Vary So Much

There isn’t one meaningful answer to “How much is an Aulani room?” because several variables change the rate at once.

  • Travel dates: school breaks, holidays and other high-demand periods can push rates higher.
  • View: Standard View is generally less expensive than Island Gardens, Poolside Gardens or Ocean View accommodations.
  • Hotel room vs villa: studios and multi-bedroom villas can cost much more than a regular hotel room.
  • Promotions: Disney periodically discounts qualifying rooms and villas.
  • Length of stay: some promotions give larger discounts when you stay four or five nights or longer.

I would compare the final price for the exact same dates rather than relying on a generic internet average.

How Much Is Aulani Per Night After Tax?

The seasonal sample prices Disney publishes are before tax, so the number shown in a rate calendar is not necessarily the final nightly amount charged to your card.

For example, five nights at the $484 sample starting rate would produce a room subtotal of $2,420 before tax. That is simply the room math. It does not include airfare, transportation, dining or paid activities.

The final total may also change if you select a more expensive room view or book dates when that starting rate is unavailable.

How Much Are Aulani Villas?

Aulani also has Disney Vacation Club accommodations ranging from Deluxe Studios to 1-, 2- and 3-Bedroom Villas.

The important difference isn’t just price. Villas change what you get inside the room.

  • Deluxe Studios add a kitchenette and work well for smaller groups.
  • 1-Bedroom Villas add a separate bedroom, full kitchen and washer/dryer.
  • 2-Bedroom Villas provide considerably more sleeping space for larger families and groups.
  • 3-Bedroom Grand Villas are the resort’s largest and most expensive villa category.

Disney’s current villa information confirms that larger villas include home-style features such as full kitchens, separate bedrooms and washers and dryers.

How Much Is an Aulani 3-Bedroom Villa?

A 3-Bedroom Grand Villa can cost several thousand dollars per night when booked with cash. The exact amount depends heavily on the season and whether you choose Standard View or Ocean View.

Current published 2026 rack-rate references put 3-Bedroom Grand Villas roughly in the low-$2,000s at the bottom of the range and above $3,500 per night for some Ocean View holiday dates, before tax.

Because those numbers change, I would use them only to establish the scale of the expense and then price your actual dates through Disney.

It’s also worth knowing that Disney’s currently advertised winter room discount for early 2027 specifically excludes 3-Bedroom Grand Villas, so you should not assume the headline resort discount applies to this room category.

Food Is One of the Biggest Costs Not Included

Aulani is not an all-inclusive resort. Your normal room reservation does not give you unlimited meals or drinks.

This is one of the easiest costs to underestimate because you can spend the entire day at the resort without leaving the property.

Makahiki character breakfast, dinner at ‘AMA‘AMA, quick-service meals, poolside food, snacks and drinks all become separate decisions.

I would decide before the trip which resort meals are actually part of the experience you want and which meals can happen elsewhere in Ko Olina.

For alternatives, see my guides to food near Aulani and breakfast near Aulani.

If you’re considering the character meal specifically, I keep the separate Aulani character breakfast price guide focused on that expense.

Rainbow Reef Is Another Paid Add-On

Most of Aulani’s major pool areas are included, but Rainbow Reef works differently.

Disney currently lists a $30 per day snorkel set for Aulani Resort guests. The rental includes snorkeling equipment, a life vest and one-day access to the guest-exclusive Rainbow Reef.

If you simply want to snorkel in the ocean, you can also explore Ko Olina Lagoon 1 directly in front of the resort. My Aulani snorkeling guide compares the two experiences.

Does Aulani Charge for Parking?

Parking can be an additional expense depending on how your reservation is booked.

I would check the parking terms attached to your actual reservation rather than building a trip budget from an old online rate. Parking policies and Disney Vacation Club benefits can differ from a standard cash hotel booking.

If you do not intend to explore Oahu extensively, also consider whether you need a rental car for every day of the stay. Aulani itself is compact and walkable once you arrive.

Current Aulani Discounts Can Change the Math

Before paying Disney’s regular room rate, I would always check the resort’s current offers.

Disney is currently advertising a winter offer for stays from January 3 through March 31, 2027 that saves up to 25% on select rooms for stays of 5 or more consecutive nights. Qualifying 4-night stays can save up to 20%.

The number of discounted rooms is limited, restrictions apply, and some accommodation categories are excluded.

You can review the current winter Aulani offer or browse Disney’s main offers page for promotions that match your dates.

DVC Points Can Produce a Completely Different Price

Another reason Aulani price comparisons can look inconsistent online is Disney Vacation Club.

Travelers can stay in qualifying DVC accommodations using Vacation Points rather than paying Disney’s normal cash villa price. Some non-members also rent points through owners or established rental services.

That can sometimes reduce the cost of a studio or villa substantially, but the tradeoff is usually less flexibility. Cancellation rules, payment terms and availability can be very different from a normal Disney cash reservation.

I cover that strategy separately in my guide to booking Aulani for less.

A Cheaper Room Still Gets the Major Resort Amenities

This is one reason I would think carefully before automatically upgrading the view.

A guest staying in a Standard View hotel room still has access to the same major resort pools, lazy river and guest beach amenities as someone paying much more for an Ocean View room.

If your plan is to leave the room early, spend the day outside and return mostly to sleep, I would put more of the vacation budget toward the resort experiences you will actually use.

If sitting on the lanai with an ocean view is part of why you are booking Aulani, then the room itself plays a larger role in the vacation and the upgrade is easier to justify.

What I Would Budget Before Booking

I would build an Aulani budget in layers rather than trying to find one universal “cost per night.”

  1. Price the exact hotel room or villa for your travel dates.
  2. Add the taxes shown in Disney’s final booking total.
  3. Remember that the resort fee itself is $0.
  4. Add parking or airport transportation based on how you plan to get around Oahu.
  5. Decide how many meals you realistically expect to buy on property.
  6. Add only the premium activities you actually intend to use, such as the lūʻau, spa or Rainbow Reef.

That gives you a far more useful answer than multiplying a generic nightly rate by the number of nights.

So How Expensive Is Aulani?

Aulani is a premium Hawaii resort, but the cost can look very different depending on how you use it.

A traveler who books a Standard View room during a less expensive period, uses the included pools and beach, and eats some meals away from the resort will have a very different total from a family booking an Ocean View villa, character dining, KA WAʻA, spa treatments and other premium experiences.

That flexibility is why I would start with Disney’s current room rate, not an old average from a travel article.

For me, the resort was worth experiencing, but I would still look for a discount before paying full price again. If you’re trying to decide whether the experience itself justifies the bill, my separate Aulani worth-it guide tackles that question without turning this pricing page into another review.
