Where to Get Breakfast Near Aulani

Finding breakfast near Aulani is easier than it first appears. You can walk across the street to Ko Olina Center for a full sit-down breakfast, grab something quick inside Aulani, book the Disney character breakfast, or drive into Kapolei for more local-style choices.

After staying at Aulani and at nearby condos, I think the most useful way to choose is by location. If you don’t want to move your car, stick with Ko Olina or the resort itself. If you’re already heading out to explore Oahu, Kapolei opens up several more breakfast options.

Walkable Breakfast Near Aulani

You don’t necessarily need a car to get breakfast outside Aulani. Ko Olina Center sits directly across from the resort and has several morning options within an easy walk.

Eggs ‘n Things Ko Olina

Eggs ‘n Things is the best fit if you want a traditional sit-down breakfast without eating at the resort. The Ko Olina location is directly across from Aulani and currently opens daily from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The menu covers the breakfast foods most people are looking for on vacation: pancakes, omelets, crepes, eggs and Hawaii-style breakfast choices. It’s particularly convenient because you can get a substantial breakfast and still walk back to Aulani rather than dealing with your car.

This would be my first place to consider if you searched for breakfast near Aulani because you want something outside Disney but don’t actually want to leave Ko Olina.

Farm To Barn Cafe & Juicery

Farm To Barn is also in the Ko Olina Center area, but it fills a different niche. Instead of a heavy sit-down breakfast, the menu focuses more on smoothies, pressed juices, açaí and coconut sorbet bowls, breakfast toasts and sandwiches.

It currently opens at 8:00 AM, so it isn’t the choice for a very early excursion day. For a lighter breakfast or something you can eat relatively quickly, though, it’s one of the most convenient options outside Aulani.

Breakfast Inside Aulani

You don’t have to leave the resort for breakfast. Aulani currently has several very different morning options, ranging from quick-service food to a full Disney character meal.

If you’re staying somewhere else in Ko Olina, you can also eat at Aulani without staying at the resort, although access to resort amenities such as the pools is a separate issue.

Ulu Cafe

Ulu Cafe is probably the most practical breakfast at Aulani if you want food without turning breakfast into an event.

Disney’s current breakfast menu includes breakfast sandwiches, a breakfast wrap, bagel sandwiches, breakfast flatbreads, French toast, a breakfast platter, açaí bowls and steel-cut oatmeal. The current sample menu lists the breakfast selection from 6:30 AM to 10:45 AM.

This is the option I’d look at first on a pool or beach morning when you mainly want to eat and get on with the day.

Off the Hook

Off the Hook is another casual Aulani option. Disney currently describes it as serving grab-and-go breakfasts before transitioning into its poolside lunch, dinner and cocktail service.

Searches for “Off the Hook breakfast” and “Aulani Off the Hook breakfast menu” are already bringing this page impressions, so it’s worth distinguishing it from Ulu Cafe. Think of Off the Hook as a convenient morning stop rather than a destination breakfast.

Makahiki Character Breakfast

Makahiki is the breakfast to choose when meeting Disney characters is part of the experience. It currently serves a three-course character breakfast from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

This is not a buffet. Disney currently uses a three-course format, and dining reservations are recommended. Reservations can be made up to 45 days in advance.

For current pricing and what the meal includes, see our guide to Aulani character breakfast. If you know you want Makahiki, our Aulani restaurant reservation guide covers booking in more detail.

You can also check Aulani’s official dining page for current menus and hours before your trip.

A More Upscale Breakfast at the Four Seasons

La Hiki

For a slower breakfast in Ko Olina, La Hiki at the neighboring Four Seasons is the upscale alternative to Aulani’s quick-service restaurants.

La Hiki currently serves a daily breakfast buffet from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM and an à la carte breakfast from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict, loco moco, avocado toast, tropical fruit and other breakfast dishes.

I would put this in a different category from Eggs ‘n Things or Ulu Cafe. It’s the option for a leisurely resort breakfast rather than something you grab before heading out for the day.

Breakfast Worth Driving to in Kapolei

If you already have a rental car and plan to leave Ko Olina after breakfast, driving into Kapolei gives you more choice and can make more sense than returning to the resort afterward.

My Cafe

My Cafe is a good choice when you want the kind of breakfast that’s difficult to get from a resort grab-and-go counter. Its menu mixes American breakfast staples with local flavors, including pancakes, eggs Benedict, omelets, fried rice and other Hawaii-style choices.

The pancake selection is one of the reasons it stands out. The restaurant currently serves breakfast and lunch throughout its opening hours, which run from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily.

Koa Pancake House

Koa Pancake House is the more casual choice when you want a straightforward local breakfast before continuing with your day.

The Kapolei location serves pancakes along with Portuguese sausage, fried rice, corned beef hash, loco moco and other local breakfast plates. It currently opens at 6:30 AM, making it particularly useful when you’re leaving Ko Olina early.

Which Breakfast Near Aulani Should You Choose?

If you want to walk somewhere outside Aulani, I’d start with Eggs ‘n Things for a full breakfast or Farm To Barn for something lighter.

If you want to stay inside Aulani, Ulu Cafe is the easiest all-around option, while Makahiki makes sense when the Disney characters are the reason you’re going to breakfast.

For a more upscale morning, La Hiki at the Four Seasons gives you a buffet and full à la carte breakfast without leaving Ko Olina. If you’re already driving out of the resort area, My Cafe and Koa Pancake House give you more local-style choices in Kapolei.
