Theme park admission is separate from the standard VIP Tour price, so everyone age 3 or older will also need valid Disneyland admission. If you want to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure during the same day, make sure your admission allows access to both parks.

A standard Disneyland Resort VIP Tour must be booked for at least 7 hours and can run for a maximum of 10 hours.

How Much Does a Disneyland VIP Tour Cost for 6 People?
For six people, you still pay the same hourly tour rate. Disney does not multiply the $500 to $800 rate by six.
At the required 7-hour minimum, a six-person group would pay $3,500 to $5,600 for the tour, which works out to approximately:
- $583 per person at the $500 hourly rate.
- $933 per person at the $800 hourly rate.
Again, each person who requires theme park admission still needs a Disneyland ticket in addition to that amount.
How Much Does the VIP Tour Cost Per Person?
There isn’t an official per-person Disneyland VIP Tour price because you’re paying for the guide and tour time rather than buying individual VIP tickets.
But dividing the 7-hour minimum cost shows how dramatically group size changes the effective price:

This is why the economics of a VIP Tour look very different for a couple than they do for a group of eight or ten.
Disney allows up to 10 guests on one standard VIP Tour, and infants count toward that limit. A party larger than 10 would need an additional guide and tour.
How Much Is a “Plaid” at Disneyland?
If you’ve heard people talk about hiring a Disneyland “plaid,” they’re generally referring to a Disneyland VIP Tour Guide because of the distinctive plaid costumes associated with Disney’s VIP guides.
There isn’t a separate plaid price. You’re booking the Disneyland Resort VIP Tour.
So the current standard cost is still $500 to $800 per hour, with a minimum of 7 hours.
What’s Included With a Disneyland VIP Tour?
The main reason the tour costs several thousand dollars is that you’re buying much more than someone to walk around Disneyland with you.
Disney currently lists these features with its standard Disneyland Resort VIP Tour:
- Expedited attraction access, including classic Fantasyland attractions.
- Reserved viewing for parades and nighttime spectaculars.
- A dedicated VIP Tour Guide who helps plan and navigate your day.
- Complimentary valet parking at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
- An exclusive VIP Tour collectible pin.
- Access to purchase VIP Tour merchandise.
- Assistance with available dining reservations and Character experiences.
I would describe the attraction benefit as expedited access rather than true front-of-line access. Disney still controls attraction availability, and if you want to ride an attraction again, you re-enter the applicable queue rather than remaining at the front indefinitely.
Are Disneyland Tickets Included in the VIP Tour Price?
No. Regular theme park admission is not included with the standard Disneyland Resort VIP Tour.
That is an easy expense to overlook when you see the hourly rate.
If a family of six books a 7-hour tour, the $3,500 to $5,600 tour cost is only one part of the total. Each guest age 3 or older still needs appropriate Disneyland admission.

Can a VIP Tour Visit Both Disneyland Parks?
Yes, your VIP day can include both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, but your admission needs to allow you to enter both parks on the same day.
The VIP Tour does not turn a 1 Park Per Day ticket into Park Hopper admission.
If visiting both parks is part of your VIP plan, make sure everyone in the group has the appropriate Park Hopper admission or another eligible form of admission that allows access to both parks.

Do You Tip a Disneyland VIP Tour Guide?
Gratuity is not included in the Disneyland VIP Tour price.
Disney says gratuities for VIP Guides are discretionary and should reflect the quality of the service you receive.
That means I would treat a possible gratuity as another part of the budget rather than assuming the published hourly rate is necessarily the final amount I’ll spend.

- Your preferred tour date.

- Whether you want to visit one or both theme parks.
- Approximately how many hours you want beyond the 7-hour minimum.
- Your highest-priority attractions, shows and dining experiences.
The exact hourly rate for your date is something I’d confirm directly with Disney before making any other expensive plans around the tour.
Is the Disneyland VIP Tour Worth $3,500 to $5,600?
The answer depends heavily on group size.
For two people, even the lowest 7-hour price is an enormous premium. For a group of 10 splitting the same tour, the starting tour cost works out to $350 per person before admission.
I think the tour makes the most sense when three things are true: your group is large enough to spread out the cost, your Disneyland time is limited, and saving hours in queues and planning logistics is genuinely valuable to you.
It can also make more sense for a major family celebration where the group would otherwise spend heavily on several separate premium add-ons.
For a normal multi-day Disneyland vacation, though, I would compare the VIP Tour against simply adding another park day or using Disney’s current Lightning Lane options. Several thousand dollars buys a lot of additional Disneyland time.
The Number I Would Use When Budgeting
If I’m estimating a Disneyland VIP Tour before calling Disney, I would use $3,500 to $5,600 as the current minimum tour cost.
Then I would add the cost of Disneyland admission for everyone age 3 or older, any Park Hopper upgrade needed for the itinerary, food or other paid experiences, and a possible gratuity for the guide.
For a group of six, the 7-hour tour itself currently works out to roughly $583 to $933 per person. For the maximum group of 10, it’s about $350 to $560 per person.
The key is that Disneyland VIP Tour pricing is hourly and applies to the group, not separately to every guest. That is the part of the pricing that makes the biggest difference when deciding whether the experience is remotely practical for your trip.
