The closest hotels to Hong Kong Disneyland are the three official Disney hotels: Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. All three are within the resort and can be reached from the park on foot or by Disney’s complimentary hotel shuttle.
But I wouldn’t automatically book a Disney hotel. If you’re trying to spend less, hotels in Tung Chung, Discovery Bay and near Hong Kong International Airport can make more sense, especially if Disneyland is only one part of your Hong Kong trip.
I’ve visited Hong Kong Disneyland multiple times, and the biggest thing I’d pay attention to isn’t the straight-line distance on a hotel booking site. It’s how you’ll actually get from the hotel to the park in the morning. A hotel that’s slightly farther away but next to the MTR can be more useful than a supposedly “nearby” hotel with awkward transportation.
2026 update: Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is scheduled to close completely beginning October 12, 2026 for renovations. Disney has not announced a reopening date yet. Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel will remain open.
My Shortlist of Hotels Near Hong Kong Disneyland

If you only care about convenience, I’d stay at Disney. If you’re looking for a budget hotel near Hong Kong Disneyland, I’d start my search in Tung Chung rather than Central or Tsim Sha Tsui.
The Three Hotels You Can Actually Walk From
Hong Kong Disneyland is fairly isolated, so the practical walk-to-the-park options are the Disney Resort hotels.
Disney currently lists these approximate walking times from the park:
- Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel: about 15–20 minutes
- Disney Explorers Lodge: about 20–30 minutes
- Disney’s Hollywood Hotel: about 20–30 minutes
All three are also connected to the park by complimentary Disney shuttle buses. Disney says the shuttle ride itself is approximately 5–7 minutes, with buses generally departing every 10–20 minutes depending on the time of day.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
This is the classic upscale choice. The Victorian-style hotel has the most traditional grand Disney-resort feel of the three, and it’s also the shortest official walk to the park.
I’ve stayed here and like it most for travelers who want the hotel itself to feel like part of the Disney experience rather than simply somewhere to sleep. You can read my full Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel review for a closer look at the rooms, grounds and whether I think the premium is worthwhile.
There is one major issue for upcoming trips: the entire hotel will temporarily close starting October 12, 2026 for extensive enhancements. If your trip falls after that date, look at Explorers Lodge or Hollywood Hotel instead until Disney announces a reopening date.
Disney Explorers Lodge
Explorers Lodge would probably be my pick for someone who wants a Disney hotel but doesn’t specifically need the Victorian atmosphere of Disneyland Hotel.
The property has a much more relaxed resort feel, with exploration-themed interiors and landscaped gardens inspired by different regions of the world. It’s particularly appealing if you want to spend some actual downtime at the hotel instead of being in the park from morning until night.
You can walk to the park, but at 20–30 minutes I’d usually just take the free shuttle, especially in Hong Kong’s summer heat and humidity.
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel is the one I’d price first when the goal is simply staying on Disney property without automatically choosing the most expensive hotel.
It has an Art Deco Hollywood theme and the same complimentary resort transportation connecting the Disney hotels with the park. The official walking route is around 20–30 minutes, so again, I consider the shuttle more useful than the ability to walk.

For a Cheaper Hotel, Look at Tung Chung First
This is the part I’d expand substantially from the old version of this guide because Search Console shows people are specifically finding this page while looking for budget and affordable hotels near Hong Kong Disneyland.
Tung Chung is one of the most practical areas to search. It’s on Lantau Island, has its own MTR station and gives you access to restaurants and shopping at Citygate Outlets instead of keeping you entirely inside the Disney resort.
Novotel Citygate Hong Kong
This is probably my first off-site hotel to compare against Disney’s rates.
Novotel Citygate is connected to Citygate Outlets and is about a five-minute walk from Tung Chung MTR station. The hotel currently estimates the MTR trip to Disneyland Resort Station at around 15 minutes.
That combination is hard to beat: you’re close enough that going to Disneyland isn’t a project, but you also have many more food and shopping options around the hotel than you do inside the Disney resort.
It’s also convenient if you’re arriving late or leaving early because the hotel operates complimentary airport transportation.
Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong, Tung Chung
Four Points is another hotel I’d price if Disney’s hotels look too expensive. It’s farther from the Tung Chung MTR station than Novotel, but the hotel operates complimentary transportation to Tung Chung Station for staying guests.
From Tung Chung you travel one stop to Sunny Bay and change to the Disneyland Resort Line.
For me, the decision between these two would mostly come down to price. If the rates are similar, I’d favor Novotel Citygate because its connection to the MTR and mall is simpler.
Auberge Discovery Bay Is Close, but Not Walkable
Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong shows up frequently when searching for hotels near Disneyland because it’s geographically quite close to the resort. But I would not describe it as a hotel within walking distance.
The appeal here is completely different from Tung Chung. Discovery Bay is quieter and more residential, and Auberge has a waterfront resort atmosphere that can be appealing if you want a break from the city.
The hotel currently advertises shuttle service between Auberge Discovery Bay and Hong Kong Disneyland when the theme park is open. I would check the current timetable with the hotel before booking because a hotel shuttle isn’t as flexible as having the MTR next door.
Airport Hotels Can Work Surprisingly Well for a Short Disney Stop
If you’re only spending a night or two around Disneyland before or after a flight, staying near Hong Kong International Airport can make more sense than moving into central Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Disneyland itself is on Lantau Island, the same island as the airport. I explain the geography and transportation options in more detail in my guide to how close Hong Kong Disneyland is to the airport.
Regala Skycity Hotel
Regala Skycity is particularly useful for an airport stopover because it’s in SKYCITY next to Hong Kong International Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo.
Hong Kong Disneyland currently lists Regala Skycity among the nearby hotels offering shuttle transportation to or from the park. Schedules can change, so I’d confirm the actual times for your dates before using the shuttle as the reason to book.
Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel
SkyCity Marriott is another airport-area option, but I’d think of it as a good airport hotel that also works for Disneyland, rather than one of the closest Disney hotels.
Marriott periodically offers Disneyland packages that include transportation, so check the current package terms if you’re considering it. Otherwise, a taxi is usually the simplest way to treat this as a Disney base.
Should You Stay in Central Hong Kong Instead?
I wouldn’t stay in Central or Tsim Sha Tsui just because a hotel booking site categorizes the property as being “near Hong Kong Disneyland.” Those areas make sense when the city itself is the main focus of your trip, but they’re not what I would choose for the easiest Disneyland morning.
If Disneyland is only one day in a longer Hong Kong trip, however, changing hotels just for Disney may be more hassle than it’s worth. Hong Kong’s MTR makes a day trip to Disneyland straightforward enough that you can stay where you actually want to spend your evenings.
For a Disney-focused visit, my order would be:
- One of the Disney hotels if convenience matters most.
- Novotel Citygate or another Tung Chung hotel if you want to reduce the hotel cost while keeping the MTR easy.
- Auberge Discovery Bay if you prefer a quieter resort setting and its shuttle schedule works for you.
- An airport/SKYCITY hotel if Disneyland is part of a short stopover or you have an early flight.

One final thing I’d check before booking an official Disney hotel is the current hotel package. Hong Kong Disneyland sometimes includes perks such as Early Park Entry with specific eligible hotel offers, but I wouldn’t assume every room reservation automatically includes it.
