Magic Key Terrace reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, but you can also check for same-day availability or join the Mobile Dine Walk-Up List when space is available. The restaurant is inside Disney California Adventure above the Golden Vine Winery and is reserved for Magic Key holders and their guests.
I would book ahead if eating here is important to my Disney California Adventure day, but I wouldn’t give up just because advance reservations are gone. Disney officially offers both limited same-day reservations and a mobile walk-up option.
There are also a few rules that aren’t obvious before your first visit. At least one Magic Key holder needs to be there for the entire dining experience, your party can include up to six people total, and the dining reservation itself does not get you into Disney California Adventure.

Disney can change restaurant hours, menus and availability, so I would still check the official Magic Key Terrace page on the day of my visit.
How to Make Magic Key Terrace Reservations
Magic Key Terrace uses Disneyland’s normal advance dining reservation system. Disney currently allows reservations for select restaurants up to 60 days before your visit.
You can book through Disneyland’s website or the Disneyland app.
- Sign in to your MyDisney account.
- Search for Magic Key Terrace – Magic Key Holder Dining.
- Select your date and party size.
- Check the available lunch or dinner times.
- Choose a time and complete the dining reservation.
If I know I want to eat at Magic Key Terrace on a specific day, I would look as soon as my dining window opens. But I wouldn’t call the 60-day mark a requirement. Availability changes as other guests make and cancel reservations.
Do You Need a Reservation for Magic Key Terrace?
No. An advance dining reservation is recommended, but it isn’t the only way to get into Magic Key Terrace.
Disney currently offers two possible last-minute options:
- Same-day dining reservations: Disney says these can become available on a limited basis.
- Mobile Dine Walk-Up List: Magic Key holders can try to add their party through the Disneyland app when walk-up availability is being offered.
I like this much more than relying on repeatedly refreshing the app at some supposedly perfect hour. There isn’t a guaranteed reservation-drop time that I would plan my day around.
If I’m already in Disney California Adventure and don’t have a reservation, I would check the app for walk-up availability before assuming Magic Key Terrace is out of the question.
Magic Key Terrace Hours
Disney currently lists Magic Key Terrace hours as:
- Lunch: 2:00 PM to 3:55 PM
- Dinner: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
I would treat those as the current posted hours rather than permanent operating hours. Disney states that hours are subject to change, so checking the restaurant page or Disneyland app before heading over is worthwhile.
The relatively late lunch start also matters if you’re building this into your park day. This isn’t currently a breakfast or early-lunch restaurant.
Where Is Magic Key Terrace? Location and Directions
Magic Key Terrace is inside Disney California Adventure, located upstairs in the lofts above the Golden Vine Winery.
It’s in the same general dining area as several of Disney California Adventure’s wine and table-service locations rather than over near Disneyland Park.
One of the things I like about the location is that being upstairs gives the terrace views across parts of Disney California Adventure. Disney specifically highlights views toward Avengers Campus, Cars Land and San Fransokyo Square.

A Magic Key Terrace Reservation Does Not Include Park Admission
This is easy to overlook when making a dining reservation.
Having a Magic Key Terrace dining reservation does not guarantee admission to Disney California Adventure. Everyone age 3 and older still needs valid admission and the required theme park reservation for Disney California Adventure on the same date.
So I would make sure my park day is secured before treating the restaurant reservation as part of my itinerary.

Who Can Eat at Magic Key Terrace?
You do not need every person at the table to have a Magic Key.
Disney allows a Magic Key holder to dine with guests, with a maximum total party size of six.
At least one eligible Magic Key holder must:
- show their Magic Key pass in the Disneyland app when arriving, and
- remain present throughout the dining experience.
That makes Magic Key Terrace useful if I’m visiting with friends or family who don’t have annual passes of their own.
What’s on the Magic Key Terrace Menu?
Magic Key Terrace is more of a lounge-style table-service restaurant than a traditional large Disney meal.
The menu focuses on California-inspired appetizers and light bites along with specialty cocktails themed around Disney California Adventure history. Guests 21 and older can also order beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages.
I would check the current menu rather than planning around a particular dish months ahead. Disney rotates offerings and specifically warns that menu items and prices can change.

Does Magic Key Terrace Give a Magic Key Dining Discount?
Applicable Magic Key dining discounts can be used on qualifying food and nonalcoholic beverages at Magic Key Terrace.
Disney does not apply the Magic Key discount to alcoholic beverages.

Is There a Magic Key Terrace Phone Number?
Disney does not currently publish a direct Magic Key Terrace restaurant phone number on its official restaurant page.
If I had a Magic Key-specific question that I couldn’t resolve through the app or website, Disney currently lists (714) 781-7277 for Magic Key Holder assistance.
For an existing dining reservation, I would first check the reservation under “My Plans” in the Disneyland app, where Disney allows dining reservations to be modified or canceled.
Magic Key Terrace and World of Color
Magic Key Terrace also currently participates in a World of Color Dining Package.
The package combines a Magic Key Terrace lunch or dinner with reserved viewing for World of Color. It is a separate dining option, so I would compare that package with a normal Magic Key Terrace reservation if seeing World of Color is already part of my evening.
Just like a regular Magic Key Terrace reservation, the dining package does not include Disney California Adventure admission or your required theme park reservation.
What I’d Do If Magic Key Terrace Is Fully Booked
If I couldn’t find an advance reservation, I wouldn’t rearrange my entire Disneyland trip around trying to force one.
I would check again as the date gets closer because cancellations can return dining times to the system. Once I’m inside Disney California Adventure, I would also check for a same-day reservation and look for the Mobile Dine Walk-Up List in the Disneyland app.
If neither is available, I would move on rather than spending the afternoon constantly refreshing my phone. Magic Key Terrace is a nice perk, but there are plenty of other places to eat and drink inside Disney California Adventure.
For me, the useful strategy is simple: book ahead when the Terrace matters to the day, but remember that same-day reservations and the official walk-up list give you another chance if advance times are gone.
