You can bring a standard nicotine vape or e-cigarette into Disney World, but you cannot use it inside the theme parks. Vaping is treated the same as smoking and is only permitted in designated outdoor smoking areas.
That distinction is the most important part of the Disney World vape policy. Disney’s current prohibited-items list does not specifically ban ordinary nicotine vaping devices, but its rules clearly restrict where you can actually use one.
So if you bring a vape into Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, expect to keep it put away until you leave the park and reach a designated smoking area.
Can You Bring a Vape Into Disney World?
Yes, Disney’s current property rules do not list ordinary nicotine vape devices or e-cigarettes among the items prohibited from the parks.
That means carrying a standard vape and using one are two different issues.
You can have the device with you, but Disney says smoking tobacco, e-cigarettes and other products that produce smoke or vapor is allowed only in designated outdoor smoking areas.
Disney can still screen bags and personal belongings and reserves the right to refuse items it determines are unsafe or disruptive.

You Can’t Vape Inside Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom
There are no designated smoking or vaping areas inside Walt Disney World’s four theme parks.
That applies to:
- Magic Kingdom
- EPCOT
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you want to vape during your park day, you’ll need to exit the park and use a designated smoking area outside the entrance.
This also means vaping isn’t permitted while you’re walking through the park, waiting in an attraction queue, eating outdoors or standing in a less-crowded corner. The restriction applies throughout the park, not just around rides and restaurants.
Can You Bring a Vape Into Magic Kingdom?
Yes, the published Disney rules don’t prohibit you from carrying a standard nicotine vape into Magic Kingdom. You simply can’t use it once you’re inside.
If you need to vape, you’ll have to leave through the park entrance and go to a designated smoking location outside the park.
Keep that inconvenience in mind when planning the day. Leaving Magic Kingdom can take considerably longer than walking across a small theme park because you may need to work your way back down Main Street and through the entrance area before reaching the permitted location.
Disney Springs Is Different
Disney Springs doesn’t follow exactly the same setup as the four theme parks.
Smoking and vaping are permitted in clearly marked designated areas at Disney Springs. Disney notes that these locations can change, so I wouldn’t rely on an old map or blog post to find one.
Instead, check the current Disney Springs map in My Disney Experience or Disney’s designated smoking areas page.
Outside those designated locations, you shouldn’t vape while walking through Disney Springs.
Disney Resort Hotels Have Designated Vaping Areas
Disney Resort hotels have their own designated outdoor smoking areas where the same smoking and vaping rules apply.
You cannot smoke or vape inside a Disney Resort hotel room or on its balcony or patio.
Disney’s current property rules state that smoking in a Guest room, balcony or patio can result in a $250 to $500 room-recovery fee.
If you’re staying on property, I’d ask at the Front Desk or check Disney’s current smoking-area map rather than assuming a quiet outdoor area near your room is acceptable.

THC and Marijuana Vapes Are a Different Issue
The fact that Disney doesn’t prohibit an ordinary nicotine vaping device shouldn’t be interpreted as permission to bring every type of vape product onto Disney property.
Disney specifically prohibits marijuana, marijuana-enriched products and illegal substances. Smoking marijuana is also prohibited throughout Walt Disney World, including in designated smoking areas.
So a marijuana or THC vape should not be treated the same as a standard nicotine e-cigarette when you’re deciding what you can bring to Disney World.

Disposable Vapes Follow the Same Location Rule
Disney’s published vaping rule isn’t based on whether your device is refillable, disposable, a pod system or another type of e-cigarette.
If the device produces vapor, using it is limited to designated outdoor smoking areas.
So switching to a smaller disposable vape doesn’t create an exception that lets you use it inside the parks.
What Happens If You Vape Inside a Disney Park?
Disney’s property rules require guests to follow its smoking and vaping restrictions, and Disney reserves the right to deny admission, prevent entry or require a person to leave Walt Disney World for failure to comply with its rules.
I wouldn’t assume you’ll simply receive a warning or that a particular number of violations is allowed. Disney doesn’t publish a step-by-step enforcement schedule for vaping violations.
The simplest approach is to use only the clearly marked designated areas.
Don’t Rely on Vape Detectors or Security Rumors
Disney doesn’t publicly detail every security measure it uses, and I wouldn’t base a park plan on claims about whether a particular restroom, attraction or area has a vape detector.
The policy applies regardless of how Disney detects or enforces a violation: vaping is limited to designated smoking areas.
Where to Check the Current Vaping Locations
Designated smoking areas can move, particularly around Disney Springs and Resort hotels, so a static list is likely to become outdated.
I would use Disney’s official designated-smoking-area map or ask a Cast Member when you actually need one.
