Introduction to the Best Rides at Disney World Magic Kingdom

Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is the most visited theme park in the world.  

The park features six lands with themed rides and attractions, which attracts more than 20 million visitors each year. The Magic Kingdom offers character meet and greets, shows, and over 60 kid and thrill rides.

1. Space Mountain

The classic Space Mountain is at the top of our list of best rides at Disney World. The Magic Kingdom’s greatest thrill ride, which welcomes guests up to 44 inches tall, is Space Mountain. In this breathtaking indoor roller coaster experience, you’ll zip by stars, planets, and meteors. nThe popular Space Mountain, which opened in 1975, is still one of the Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions.

Although it hasn’t been updated since 2009, it still provides quite an exciting ride despite not being as smooth as modern roller coasters.

Space Mountain wait times are always lengthy, but an Individual Lightning Lane Entrance is available.

2. Big Thunder Mountain

Big Thunder Mountain is second on our list of top rides at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. AT Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain is the Nerd favorite ride, and it’s a must-do when visiting the park.

On a busy summer day, you might have to wait in line for over an hour to board wild west era railroad car that will take you on a thrilling journey through mountains, canyons, and tunnels.

This ride can be accessed by a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane Entrance or first thing in the morning.

3. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the third best ride in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. It is one of the most popular attractions at the park, based on waiting times. You’ll board your mine train and go on easy but thrilling trips into the mine in this family-friendly roller coaster. At the end of the journey, look for Snow White. The Individual Lighting Lane Entrance to this attraction may be a good way to experience it since wait times can be lengthy. Wait times have reached up to 180 minutes (three hours).

4. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Fourth on our list of best rides at Disney World Magic Kingdom is the Buzz LIghtyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

On Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, you can be a Junior Space Ranger and battle the evil Zurg. 

A laser cannon is used to shoot at Zurg’s robot army targets marked with a “Z” to fight the evil force.

The Space Ranger spin is considered one of the most fun rides throughout the park and is suitable for all ages.  

On a typical day, the wait for this attraction can easily exceed 30 to 45 minutes, and Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane Entrances are available.

5. The Haunted Mansion

Fifth on our list of best rides at Disney World Magic Kingdom is The Haunted Mansion.

You’re in for the time of your life when you board your Doom Buggy.  

From start to finish, the Haunted Mansion takes less than 10 minutes to complete.  

This timeless Disney classic features Madame Leota’s seance room along with a number of ghosts and ghouls. 

One of the best queues at the Magic Kingdom is at the Haunted Mansion.  

Experience leaky tombs, musical crypts, and other amazing haunts as you stroll through a graveyard.

Wait times for this ride can easily exceed 60 minutes, especially during busy periods like summertime and holidays. An entry through Disney’s Genie+ Lightning Lane is available.

6. Splash Mountain

The sixth best ride at Disney World Magic Kingdom is Splash Mountain. You will definitely get wet when you drop five stories from the top of the ride, which makes it a great choice on hot Florida days.

Visit over 100 Audio-Animatronics during your “log flume” journey with Br’er Rabbit. In addition to the five-story drop, there are three dips on Splash Mountain. On hot summer days, FastPass+ wait times can easily exceed 60 minutes due to high demand.

Splash Mountain will be less crowded if you arrive early on the day of your visit if there is no Fast Pass+ available.

7. Peter Pan’s Flight

Peter Pan’s Flight, based on the classic 1953 novel, is one of the best rides at Disney World. You’ll travel from London to Never Land with Wendy, Michael, and John by your side as you battle Captain Hook. The ride is appropriate for all ages and takes about three minutes. However, due to its popularity, wait times can often exceed 45 minutes unless you visit during an off-peak time or use the Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance.

8. Pirates of the Caribbean

Next on our list of the best rides at Disney World Magic Kingdom is the Pirates of the Caribbean.

This dark ride takes you through the Caribbean while avoiding pirates as they seek out treasure and loot.  

Keep an eye out for Captain Jack Sparrow, as he may appear.

Pirates of the Caribbean can have very long wait times in peak season, so be sure to plan ahead if you want to experience this classic ride.

9. Jungle Cruise

The classic Jungle Cruise is ninth on our list of best rides at Disney World Magic Kingdom. You’ll avoid not only elephants, gorillas, and other jungle creatures that may be found in these regions but also headhunters throughout the journey!

The Walt Disney World Jungle Cruise guides are hilarious, and even though one of the boats sank, our view on this classic ride hasn’t changed. According to reports, Disney Imagineers are renovating the Jungle Cruise. As a consequence of the changes, several elements have been altered or removed. Wait times for the Jungle Cruise can reach 60 minutes on a normal summer day, but there is a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane Entrance available.

10. Tomorrowland PeopleMover

Next on our list of best rides at Disney World Magic Kingdom is the Tomorrowland PeopleMover.

A visit to the Magic Kingdom would not be complete without a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

The Tomorrowland PeopleMover is a short 10-minute ride where you sit in a four-person vehicle above Tomorrowland. You’ll pass by Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, and Mickey’s Star Traders gift show. The wait times for the Tomorrowland PeopleMover are usually quite low, at less than 20 minutes on most days.
