The best free way to get from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom is the monorail. Take the EPCOT Monorail from the park’s front entrance to the Transportation and Ticket Center, get off there, then transfer to the Express Monorail for Magic Kingdom.
There is no direct Disney bus between EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. For most guests, I would plan on roughly 45 minutes for the full monorail trip and allow closer to an hour if I have a dining reservation or another timed experience waiting at Magic Kingdom.
There is one useful exception: if I’m already near EPCOT’s International Gateway in World Showcase, I may exit there and walk to Disney’s Beach Club Resort for a bus directly to Magic Kingdom instead of walking all the way back through EPCOT to the monorail.
The EPCOT to Magic Kingdom Monorail Route
The monorail route requires one transfer, but it is straightforward:
- Exit EPCOT through the main entrance near Spaceship Earth.
- Follow the signs to the EPCOT Monorail station outside the park.
- Take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center, usually called the TTC.
- Exit the EPCOT Monorail at the TTC.
- Follow the signs for the Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom.
- Ride the Express Monorail to the entrance of Magic Kingdom.
You can also take the ferry from the TTC to Magic Kingdom if you prefer or if the monorail line is unusually backed up.
Disney’s official monorail information confirms that the EPCOT Monorail and Magic Kingdom Express Monorail both connect through the TTC.

How Long Does It Take From EPCOT to Magic Kingdom?
I would normally budget about 45 minutes from the EPCOT front entrance to the Magic Kingdom entrance.
It can be faster when both monorails arrive at the right time. It can also take longer if you just miss a train, encounter a busy TTC platform or travel around park opening or closing.

I would start the clock when I leave EPCOT, not when the monorail starts moving. The walking, platform wait and TTC transfer are what make the trip longer than it looks on a map.
There Is No Direct Bus From EPCOT to Magic Kingdom
This is an easy point to get wrong because Disney does run buses between several of its theme parks.
Disney does not currently operate a normal direct park-to-park bus from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom.
Disney connects these two particular parks by monorail instead.
I would not take a bus to a random resort just to create another transfer when I am already near EPCOT’s main entrance. The monorail is considerably simpler.

If You’re Near International Gateway, Don’t Automatically Walk Back to the Monorail
EPCOT is large enough that your location inside the park can change the best route.
If I am near Spaceship Earth, the monorail is an easy choice.
If I am on the opposite side of the park near the France or United Kingdom pavilions, walking all the way to EPCOT’s front entrance just to reach the monorail adds a substantial amount of walking.
From that part of World Showcase, I can instead exit through International Gateway and walk to Disney’s Beach Club Resort or Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
Both resorts have Disney bus transportation to Magic Kingdom.
The advantage is not just avoiding the cross-park walk. Disney resort buses traveling to Magic Kingdom drop guests near the park entrance, so this route also avoids the TTC monorail transfer.
The downside is waiting for the bus. I would use the My Disney Experience app for directions and make the decision based on where I already am rather than crossing EPCOT specifically to use this route.
A Regular Uber or Lyft Does Not Skip the TTC
I would not pay for a standard rideshare solely because I think it will drop me at Magic Kingdom’s front gate.
It won’t.
Regular Uber and Lyft vehicles going to Magic Kingdom currently use the Transportation and Ticket Center for pickup and drop-off.
From the TTC, I still need to take the monorail or ferry to Magic Kingdom.
That makes a standard rideshare less useful for this particular park-to-park trip than it might initially appear.
Minnie Van Is the Paid Option That Can Actually Save a Transfer
If getting to Magic Kingdom as quickly and simply as possible matters more than cost, I would check Minnie Van availability in the Lyft app.
Minnie Van is Disney’s paid ride service, driven by Disney Cast Members.
The important advantage at Magic Kingdom is that Minnie Vans can drop guests near the park entrance instead of leaving them at the TTC like a regular Uber or Lyft.
Pricing varies, so I would compare the current Lyft quote against the time I am actually trying to save.
Driving Yourself Usually Doesn’t Make This Transfer Faster
If I already have my car parked at EPCOT, I can drive to Magic Kingdom without paying another standard theme park parking charge that day.
But I still cannot drive to the Magic Kingdom front entrance.
Magic Kingdom parking is at the TTC, so after driving and parking I still need the monorail or ferry to reach the park.
For that reason, I would normally leave the car at EPCOT and use Disney transportation unless I specifically need the vehicle somewhere else later.

You Can Park Hop Before 2 PM Now
Older Walt Disney World park-hopping guides often tell guests they have to wait until 2:00 PM before changing parks.
That restriction no longer applies to the normal Park Hopper benefit.
Guests with eligible Park Hopper admission can currently visit another theme park at any time during operating hours after entering their first park, subject to park capacity and any reservation rules attached to their admission type.
So there is no transportation reason to wait until early afternoon before leaving EPCOT.

Going From Magic Kingdom Back to EPCOT Works the Same Way
The monorail route also works in reverse.
- Board the Express or Resort Monorail outside Magic Kingdom.
- Exit at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
- Follow the signs to the EPCOT Monorail.
- Ride directly from the TTC to EPCOT’s front entrance.
Disney currently says the EPCOT Monorail begins operating 30 minutes before EPCOT opens and continues until 2 hours after EPCOT closes. The Express and Resort Monorails begin 30 minutes before Magic Kingdom opens and continue until 1 hour after Magic Kingdom closes.
