I think Sweethearts’ Nite makes the most sense when the exclusive entertainment, characters, photos and atmosphere are the reason you want to go.
I would be less likely to pay the separate event price if my only goal were riding ordinary Disneyland attractions. You can spend a normal park day doing those without paying for a special-event ticket.
The value is really in getting a different version of Disneyland for a few hours, not simply buying four hours of ride access.
