It wasn’t long before people began to ask when Disneyland would be coming to their part of the world, and Roy Disney realized that he needed to start building theme parks overseas if he wanted Disneyland to continue to grow.
The Tokyo Disneyland Resort was the first international Disney park, and it opened its gates in 1983.
The resort was an immediate success, and it helped to cement Tokyo’s status as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Over the years, other Disney parks have been built in France and China, and each one has been unique and tailored specifically for its local audience.
