Jungle Cruise at Disneyland (Updates)

Recently, key attractions at Disneyland Parks throughout the world have undergone updates, with the most notable being the Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in California.

However, when Disneyland reopens on April 30, 2021, the Jungle Cruise will not yet be open. Presently, both the jungle cruise at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are receiving story edits and character additions/removals to eliminate culturally inappropriate content.

The attraction is remaining open while modifications are being made in Walt Disney World. The Trader Sam aspect will be removed in particular. Construction has already begun at the Disneyland Jungle Cruise in California. Which will be completed later in 2021. We aren’t sure if the Disneyland Jungle Cruise will reopen before construction and updates are completed.

Recently, Disney unveiled the new backstory of the Jungle Cruise in Disneyland with a fake newspaper article from The Daily Gnus.

What is new with the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland?

The first thing to know is that there is a recent story with a different theme. The character Albert Falls has gone missing, and this leaves Alberta in charge of the company. Under these circumstances, Alberta appears to be responsible for creating the infamous tour company situated within the jungle. Yes, the same tour company that dad-joke slingers take guests on. The Society of Explorers and Adventurers’ (SEA) impact on Alberta’s history is deep. An organization mentioned in the Skipper Canteen and Jungle Navigation Co at the Magic Kingdom, as well as the Tropical Hideaway and Bengal Barbeque at Disneyland in Alberta. mystic point

We Nerds are especially fond of how this story is gradually connecting all the Disney parks together. For example, in the newspaper where Alberta references her “next trip”, she mentions new characters who’ll be joining her. This provides context for the lost party whose boat is commandeered by primates and ends up a pole while attempting to escape an irate rhino in the updated Jungle Cruise at Disneyland.

New characters of the Jungle Cruise

The following are a list of the new Jungle Cruise characters introduced by Disney:

Alberta Falls

Alberta was born in 1911 to Sneh, an artist from India who was famous all over the world, and Albert Falls Jr., a British art scholar.

Felix Pechman XIII

Felix Pechman XIII recently left his home in Silver Springs, Florida and joined the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd. Unfortunately, he has brought his bad luck with him. Alberta was forced to ask him to lead her top clients on their first boat excursion.

Dr. Leonard Moss

After cataloging every plant in frigid Nova Scotia, Dr. Leonard Moss decided he should take his next photo journey to a warmer climate.

Rosa Soto Dominguez

Rosa Soto Dominguez, also known as La Rosa in the art world, was invited by her close friend Alberta back to Mexico City from Paris.

Dr. Kon Chunosuke

Last, but not least, is Japan’s most well-known entomologist and member of the renowned Society of Explorers and Adventurers, Dr. Kon Chunosuke. He journeyed to the jungle in hopes of finding new insects for his outstanding collection.

Siobhan “Puffin” Murphy

Siobhan “Puffin” Murphy came all the way from Dingle, Ireland to surprise her distant cousin twice removed on her father’s side, Alberta.

Remembering the classic Jungle Cruise at Disneyland

The Jungle Cruise was introduced on July 17, 1955 at Disneyland in California. The ride was based on the True-Life Adventure films Disney produced; however, Walt Disney asked animator Marc Davis to create humorous gags to lighten the mood of the attraction because it had too much of an educational tone.

Gradually, more dad jokes and wildlife gags were added to make every experience different. Paired with comedian skipper actors, guests enjoy a new adventure each time they board the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland.

Earlier this year, Disney made the decision to remove what many people called colonialist caricatures of “natives.”

The recent updates to the Jungle Cruise will include the removal of any demeaning orquarters. The focus on introducing more animals, as well as a new skipper character whose “journey took a turn for the worse.” Kevin Lively, an Imagineer and former skipper at Disneyland said this change was important so that visitors feel like they’re “on an authentic safari.”

In addition to the Trader Sam character, there are also additional updates to the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland. These include a new gift shop that will be located in the lost and found section of the ride. We nerds are still not sure whether or not you will be able to purchase any of the “found” inventory for your own collections.

The backstory of the Jungle Cruise is straightforward at the Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom Park. The story, on the other hand, is merely alluded to in the Tropical Hideaway and Bengal Barbeque at Disney’s California Adventure. Both mention the Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
